This might come as a surprise, but has anyone noticed that Virat and Sai do not belong to the same caste?
Chavan is a maratha surname. Marathas are the khshatriyas, I have heard Bhavani harping about 96-kuli maratha caste which is supposed to be the highest of all marathas in Maharashtra.
Joshi is a Brahmin surname. So Sai is brahmin.
Normally, in any Indian family a inter-caste marriage is frowned upon, unless they are modern/know the girl/boy well in advance. Here the Chavans already have Shivani, but I do not know if there is any backstory there.
Do you think this would be issue for Sai? Was there anything in the original show about this?

Although I don't really understand the caste system, I know for sure that Bhavani is not gonna accept this marriage because of how dominating and controlling she is. She already taunts Karishma and Aswini for being from a lower class...although I am not sure if they are from a different caste or not.

Sai is also marathi. Marathis also have joshi surname.
Our country is really one of a kind. First division on the basis of religion then caste.. and then within caste there also comes sub castes🤪
There different sub castes in marathas also. There are maratha brahmins, maratha kshatriy and maratha other sub castes also.

My query is regarding if the caste differences. Would it be a problem after their marriage as you rightly said- Indian society is a maze. Navigating the caste differences is not easy. Hence my question 🙂

It wont be that much of a big problem as they have accepted a sindhi girl also as their daughter in law. She is altogether from a different caste while sai just belong to different sub caste. But yes bhawani will not approve of her and will find ways to insult her.
