My mom told me that he actually went all out on this song, because he knew he had to match Madhuri Dixit who was too good in the female version. In fact, everywhere only the female version was played..no one cared for Anil Kapoor’s version. She was telling me those days, the guys always got a male version if the female version had become a super hit on radio and TV Songs and song videos were pre released, and when female songs and dances became super hits, they would quickly shoot a male version or actually insert a male song into the movie when it released.
