Aish is the only one claiming that Veer Zara was made for her. She usually says the same about all directors and movies... everything was offered to her first and only when she refused that's when the movie was offered to other actresses. A low way to hog other's limelight and steal credit. Two years ago she claimed that Bhansali created Padmavati for her. Bhansali immediately refuted Aishwarya's claim and said that Padmavati was made for Deepika only.

YRF has never shown any interest in working with Aishwarya. In 90s and early 2000s, their favorite were Rani and Preity. Ash got a cameo in Mohabbatein and later Dhoom 2 because she was Abhishek's girlfriend. Katrina has worked in seven Yash Raj movies, the most after Rani and Preity.

Aishwarya was going to be launched by Yash Chopra in Maine To Mohabbat Karli which was never made. He made DTPH.

Yash Chopra wrote Zaara's role first having Aishwarya in mind but it never happened because of her fiasco with SRK. Yash Chopra then again approached her for Samiya Siddiqui. SRK refused to work with her. So Yash Chopra cast Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji.

Obviously Preity was his third choice. It was an "Indian" traditional role. When he could not cast Aishwarya he then approched Kajol who refused it because she did not like the role.

Yash Chopra's first choice for the roles were Amitabh, Sridevi, SRK, Aishwarya, Nadia Jamal. It was first revealed just after Devdas was released.
