I havent seen the beginning as well, but whatever I have seen, it seems to me that Kavya as a conniving b***h wormed her way inside their household and by projecting herself as a modern, independent women who is so friendly towards all of them, tried to influence all the kids by so that they like her and think of Anupama as a women far inferior to her. All the kids call her Kavya and not Kavya auntie, which is common in Indian culture to say if the lady is a friend of your father.

All but Samar fell for her act. Samar still thinks of her mother to be the best and respects her.

From what i can tell, is that Pakhi thinks Kavya is cool and can talk to her about boys, school , modern things that she cant with her mum and who she thinks cant do anything much (netiher speak english etc).
