Raanjhanaa or Aashiqui 2 - Better music?

Both films released in the same year, 2013. Aashiqui 2 swept all the Best music awards that year.

For me, I loved songs of Aashiqui 2 when they released. As did I love Raanjhanaa's album too.

But 7 years later, only Raanjhanaa still sounds fresh and different. Aashiqui 2 sounds like any other good Bollywood album. Raanjhanaa had that Rahman touch and I am recognizing it now.

ranjhaana was just amazing, great songs, great picturizations, and one film where Sonam Kapoor was good . dhanush, swara Bhaskar, abhay deol, mohammed zeeshan ayub are so good they just propped her really well. and Anand l rai is a good director.

I love watching Raanjhanaa songs too. The picturization is something else. Don't like Aashiqui 2 ones much. They lack repeat value.

Ashiqui 2 songs are too generic for me.

You could've asked which is a better film. In music, Aashiqui 2 easily trumps everything from last decade.

On the contrary, the two don't compare. One is generic pop.. and on one hand the music in Raanjahana is on a deeper level.

Popularity wise generic pop always does better, but that doesn't mean its actually better musically.
