Justice Kotwal : So a person who actually purchases gets lesser punishment (under Sec 8(c)) and a person who pays money gets higher punishment (under Sec 27A). What logic is that?

Somebody lends you money for purchasing drugs for you. And the one who advanced the loan gets 10 years and the one who purchased gets only one year!

The archaic laws of India..

Wow. Just wow. Her crimes are worse than homicide? Jesus christ.

While I'm no fan of Rhea, putting her situation in context with everything else happening in this country, you got to realize how under privileged and powerless this women is.

People with influence, money and power have gotten scott free for far more terrible crimes and here she is rotting in jail for a bit of weed. While I understand their need to show like they are doing something, these statements are a bit ridiculous isn't it?

Scapegoating much?

This is so upsetting.. Imagine them doing this to her when the entire nation is watching...

What will they do to someone who are not even known? Kill, rape and argue it’s in the name of law🤪

No logic at all. But one thing the court said is that if a father procures drug for his drug addict son who will die without it, How much punishment should he get? Even I want to know.

NCB couldn't find any contraband in Rhea or her bro place. That 50 gm of weed was taken from a drug peddler place. Here is what a defense lawyer said " The cases cited by the NCB relate to commercial quantity.19 people have been arrested in this case and not even 100 grams of ganja have been recovered. And you want to send a message to the society? "

Section 27A deals with ‘financing illicit traffic and harbouring offenders’, and attracts a punishment in the range of ten to twenty years of rigorous imprisonment.

No wonder they are trying this angle. But if they actually are, hope Sushant's name is taken as a criminal she was harbouring by everyone. All weed takers m are criminal right, then so is he.

Hope everyone is happy. They wanted peoples' lives getting destroyed over weed, well now it's the one whose 'justice' they were fighting for... His legacy will be destroyed and he will be branded as a criminal. Good job!
