NCB is currently headed by 1984-batch Gujarat cadre IPS officer Rakesh Asthana, known for his long association with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

Asthana had to be moved out of the CBI in October 2018 following a public spat with then CBI director Alok Verma after he was booked by the agency in a bribery case. But he was given a clean chit in February this year after no evidence was found against him. In July 2019, Asthana was appointed the NCB’s director general and in August this year, he was also made the chief of Border Security Force (BSF)

Why all other threads related to Sushant are closed down because of personal attacks but this thread is open? Is it because this is related to Sara's statement who is Nawab ki beti? Nepotistic mods?

There are chat messages of Rhea n her stooges. These people are all arrested. Dipesh is saying he got drugs for Sushant , he is in Jail i guess, for what? Is there any direct message from Sushant's phone that proves he himself was ordering drugs ? They all made story to save themselves but alas all are in Jail

lmao. His "clean chit" must be as honest as the clean chit that was given to his overlord Modi.

Mr. Asthana headed the Special Investigation Team of the Gujarat Police that probed the 2002 Godhra train massacre. He also probed the 2008 serial bomb blasts in Gujarat. In 1996, during his previous stint in the CBI, he arrested Mr. Lalu Prasad for his involvement in the fodder scam. Known for his proximity to BJP leader L.K. Advani in the early days, Mr. Asthana came into the good books of Mr. Modi and BJP president Amit Shah during his Gujarat stint. As soon as the NDA came to power in 2014, he was brought to Delhi and posted in CBI.
