Ohh I dint realize he is playing Raavan. In this case, yes possibly physique wise he doesnt match up to the character sketch. Its like Shahid playing a Rajput with his super lean physique in Padmaavat and falling terribly short!

Yeah he will be like there was no concept of good or evil before British arrived.

He was good in Laal Kaptaan, Haven't seen Tanhaji

Were there no other options left? Someone like, say, Ranveer Singh, would have been more appropriate after that deranged Khilji act.

He is a misfit physically as Ravan was said to be taller, broader and stronger than Sri Rama. Even Ranveer would not fit as Prabhas is way taller than him.. Saif toh is shorter than even Ranveer.

While I think saif is more than competent to pull off the role, I do agree the physical aspects might be his biggest challenge

He’s much shorter and leaner than prabhas who is tall and muscular ...also his features don’t quite “fit” for Raavan

Let’s see maybe they will do lots of prosthetics and Vfx to make him look convincing

I won't say miscast, rather personally for me I am not able to image him in that role. Ravana has different kind of physic na and has Dravidian roots ( I don't know I am may be wrong also) . On the other had Saif has Nawabi look. Isliye as a an actor he is really amazing in negative roles agree to that.

There is no Dravidian/ Aryan. It was all a well propagated myth. But even if for an argument sake we have to delve into it then.. Ravana was from North India. He was born in a village called Bisrakh in Greater Noida and was a descendent from Pulastya who was from devbhumi which is now called Uttarakhand and its actually Sri Rama who is a descendent of Ikshvaku clan which had its origins in South India.

He was comical in Tanhaji. He is a good actor but is not consistent.
