Best written analysis of situation I've read to date. Thanks for sharing. Kuhu is the venom the Meenu was always worried about - the house breaker...not Mishti. I wonder why the sharp Meenu cannot see this - unless her hatred of Mishti is not based on her being a ghar thod person as she claims but rather someone who Abir loves more than anything.

Awesome writing 👍🏼. Kuhu is an out and out narcissist. Initially, I found Kuhu mean but understandable. A rare, complex grey character in the black and white world of ITV. The Dahi Handi incident threw me off. Still, I had hope that Kuhu would realise that her actions could have serious, neagtive consequences as her remorse felt genuine. Not much changes even post lockdown, when Kuhu got to be in the limelight for 3 months without Misti at home. She instead resented Misti for enjoying an extended 'honeymoon' more than feeling threatened with Misti's return.

Abir's character disappointed me this time. I thought Kuhu will have to put in some real efforts to win back her 'bro'. But all it took was a recording of a confession and a group family photo. Infact, I thought Abir would be unhappy with BB too given that she flatly turned down his condition of staying at home during 'Varun' fiasco if she treated Misti like a DIL. Where is the Abir who never caved in to BB's unfair demands for the sake of his family? Where is the Abir who apologized to Misti that NONE of his family members treated her like their own? Where is the Abir who told Kuhu that Misti would no longer understand and that Kuhu would have to take responsible actions? The minute Misti speaks against Kuhu's unfair behaviour, Kuhu throws a major fit which inadvertently involves all family members. So, if Misti is to maintain family peace as Abir wishes, she will have to be on mute mode forever. Then, too, how Misti will stop outsiders like the the printing press from making mistakes is beyond me. Kuhu and her behaviour don't need to be 'handled' but called out like Misti did. Unfortunately, this time, no one supported her. Kuhu constant taunts like fate doodh se shakal is not cutesy or bachpana but outright mean and bullying. After realising that had Kuhu really accepted Abir as her bro, she wouldn't even dream of hurting Misti, there is no lasting change in Abir's behaviour towards Kuhu. IMO, not calling out Kuhu now is enabling her.

The show seems to be stuck in a rut with Abir & Kunal not able to soften Kuhu's behaviour, Parul and before Nanu's failure to change BB's mindset and BM and BP at a loss with Jasmeet and Varsha. Jasmeet's irrational negativity and Kuhu, being directly or indirectly , defended / not facing or facing just token punishment for every action is finally putting me off the show. Kuhu's behaviour turned Misti's childhood and now her married life miserable whereas Misti's only fault seems to be her existence. She never asked anyone to favour her over Kuhu and she has consistently supporting Kuhu - whether forgiving her, praising her skills in front of everyone or standing by her against Kunal. This constant attack against Misti, inspite of knowing what it does to 'bro' and 'son', respectively make Kuhu and BB black and not grey characters to me.

The only saving grace of this show is the wonderful cast with each actor doing complete justice with his/her character. I don't know what the TRP audience wants but I would love to see a united, loving family facing all odds from outside cameos like Vatsal and Ruslaan. It brings a much needed freshness and charm to a show repeating in a loop.

Every word of yours is perfectly accurate! 👏

Bold: Abir has indeed become Kuhu’s enabler like everyone else! We would expect at least HE would support and understand Mishti but NO, he’s putting equal blame on Mishti for this fiasco! Even in last night’s precap he’s berating BOTH girls for faking friendship when he knows his Mishti and knows she’s genuinely trying to make up with Kuhu but the latter is still on her hate Mishti trip! Very disappointed in Abir!

BTW Why can’t Abir or Kunal call the publishers and clear the matter first of all? Do they have Mehendi on their hands that they are waiting for Mishti to call? 😕
