This is the most sensible post I have read on this topic. Agree with every single point.

Even people’s sentiments kept changing. The only constant was their hate for Alia.Baki sab hawa me.

The success story of Gunjan Saxena pretty much proves that which had Dharma’s name attached to it as well as one of the most prominent face of nepotism Janvi Kapoor(who is quite mediocre in her work and looks)featuring in it.I have no issue..I have always believed good work should and must be appreciated but the badi badi batein that were going on here seems to have gone all in the bin now or rather I should say it’s all selective.

& honestly that's how it should be. Just because of nepotism or an actor's suicide, why should people boycott Bollywood in whole? Nepotism exists everywhere, then people should also boycott looking for jobs, going to school & etc.

There's no way to end nepotism. I don't even care for nepotism as long as the nepo kids are talented like Ranbir, Alia, Kareena etc. The public should support quality cinema & talented stars, be it nepo kids or outsiders. That's all i hope for.

Agree.

People should not support people like Daisy Shah.

I think of it as not anti-Bollywood.

This is anti:

1. Nepotism - Many are tired of making 100s of crores of people suffer as barely able to act star kids are launched as leads in high visibility projects. Then these star kids proceed to "learn" acting via actual films, and thereby show 'improvement' at public's expense.

The sentiment is that movies are made for and eventually paid for by public, but the public is being duped into getting substandard products.

Just like in Mr. India, where shopkeepers mixed kankad into food, producers mix barely able to act star kids into an able star cast. And all the big shops that most people visit sell the same drivel. We have to go to a tapri if we need unadulterated product, but the tapris are unable to afford to invest enough money in either making a better product, distributing it, or even marketing and selling it.

When the nepo kid is like Hrithik in KNPH, it's great for everyone, agreed. But there are too many unprepared kids barely out of college that are being pushed into our faces, and many more waiting in the wings. This has become a culture, and many want us to accept it. But not everyone agrees to this sentiment.

2. Blinds culture - Many are revolted to know that bebuniyad blinds are wantingly pushed out to emotionally and professionally hurt others. The amount of damage these can do is understated.

3. PR/Media/Critics Nexus - Many of us are only now realizing the extent to which stardom is manufactured. Many critics and "journalists" participate in this for money. 🤢

Sushant may have been from Bollywood, but I don't think that is the sole reason for the uproar. Many, that are not interested at all in Bollywood, have connected to him and his apparent pain in an almost surreal way. There is something about him that has touched millions. And many, from the bottom of their hearts❤️, want his family to get justice.

The hijacking of this movement was bound to happen. Many will come to sek their roti. But that shouldn't be used to vilify this movement. This HAS started at the grass roots, and the politics and media is just trying to jump onto the bandwagon.

Also, MUST say, this is not to make people forcibly 'like' Outsiders. This is to like only whosoever is the best, irrespective of being an insider or outsider.

Nepotism in Bollywood if NOT okay and must be discouraged. Talented nepo kids must be respected if they deserve it by their talent. But kids that are not ready must not be pushed out as leads. Public is not ch$$$ya and knows when it is being duped. Customer is always right! smiley2

We, ourselves, are a small part of the public. We can choose to do something about it. In leaderless movements like this, each person is their own leader. If each of us contributes in our own small way to this movement, at the minimum, a star kid will be launched only after being adequately ready; and being optimistic, there might actually be auditions amongst stars to bag the leads for non nepo-family productions.👍🏼

I’ll just continue my usual thing of not watching the overhyped products rs, rk, ananya, Sara, janhvi, Tara, all the upcoming newcomers look plain and etc, I usually avoid so many actors and actresses films. I have not watched a movie of rs since dp movie pv, have not watch rk movie since dp movie. I watched ananya movie for kartik but now I’ll not watch their movies even if they are opposite my favorite actors or actresses. But I’ll continue to watch the older generation of actors and actresses because they bring certain movies I like to watch for entertainment

To be fair most newbies learn on the job. Many of them are just ok in their first film and some of them are truly atrocious. But I've seen some truly extraordinary performances from those whom I've written off as 'wooden' or average in their first film. It usually takes them 5-6 films to prove their mettle. It was easier in the 80s and 90s since actors did more films and they learned quickly on the job. Now with actors doing one film a year the process takes longer. Plus there's a lot more media scrutiny and audience are impatient to give them time to bloom. If you're a newbie there are two choices. However I'd advice against the quick route.Going the Alia and Janhvi Kapoor route of doing a performance oriented role in their second outing itself, and under performing. It makes sense to do films with an ensemble cast or feel-good romantic comedies and learn on the job. Deepika,Priyanka and the rest chose that route. That way criticism won't be so tough.

Even with Auditions the producer will pick a sentimental favorite if not his own kid . It’s in the dna 😆

I have notice outsiders do theatre than go to school of acting than join films, literally 90 percent of outsiders do some kind of training of acting. Even dp is not a good actress at first but she went to acting school. Srk, ayushmann and etc did theatre before joining movies and so many outsiders start out in tv first. While nepo kids do their training on a big production house. I am just not interested in watching the current overhyped overrated nepo kids.

Jhanvi-Sara-Ananya are a new low for Bollywood. The hype around them is insane, and inversely proportional to their acting talent.
