Over the past five years, I have witnessed and experienced countless chilling unfair phenomena: some classmates study hard for four or five years, only to have their years of dedication wasted by paper leakage on the eve of exams; some students rank high in written exams with outstanding strength, but are maliciously replaced by privileged children in interviews and fail unexpectedly; more poor youths like me are down-to-earth and persistent, yet remain unemployed for a long time, with knowledge and ambition but no way out or hope. The root of all these sufferings and despair is never our lack of effort, but huge institutional loopholes, supervisory dereliction of duty, wanton corruption of the power class, and the upper class’s complete disregard for the survival, development and upward mobility rights of grassroots youths. As the holder of the highest judicial discretion, Judge Kant should have upheld justice, spoken for the people, severely investigated and punished exam fraud, and rectified unfair employment patterns. Instead, he completely distorted facts, connived at the spread of institutional chaos, attributed all faults to innocent young people, slandered strivers let down by the unfair system as "cockroaches", and groundlessly accused us of attacking the system and disrupting social order. Such judicial double standards and injustice have thoroughly chilled all grassroots students.

Most unacceptably, Judge Kant holds a high judicial position with a comfortable and affluent life, belonging to the elite circle and completely detached from grassroots society. We countless exam-preparing and unemployed youths have never hated society or resisted the system. We only long for the most basic fairness from beginning to end. If exams are rigorous and fraud-free, employment is transparent and unmonopolized, and social opportunities are equal with unobstructed class mobility, no young person would be willing to idle away their youth or speak up for rights online for no reason. It is the continuous unfairness, hopeless predicament and despair of futile efforts that force us to speak out and safeguard our rights.
