I guess rey sees what jugnu means to prana to and that melts him a little maybe. And obviously he doesn't love her like a father would but he definitely doesn't want her harmed or dead out of the little humanity that's there in him.

And I have a feeling rhea might turn negative. She didn't say anything when mallika insulted jugnu. Usually she says something or the other.

Also, I have a feeling it's either mallika behind the kidnapping or the matron or Rey's mother. Rey's mother probably doesn't want to harm jugnu but wants to ensure she is away from khuranas and protect her or she is using jugnu to meet rey or she is evil maybe
