then the same indie directors are hired and then the producers curb the creativity of the team and make them hire their nepo-kids and the cycle continues..

i don't know why people are being so obtuse.. the problem is far deeper than "their money their choice to hire whoever they want"/"if audience support talent, talent will flourish" etc etc etc

last month or so Bollywood's toxicity has been exposed time and time again and yet the same excused are used over and over again to white wash it...

no wonder majority of the products that a country of over a billion population and a huge movie industry comes up with are total trash

Nobody cares about the reviewers/media. Most of Salman's movies don't get great reviews and yet, they are the biggest blockbusters and he is one of the biggest superstars. Lootera was called a masterpiece by the reviewers, yet it was a huge flop.

The truth is that Sushant s so called fans didn't watch his movies like Sonchiriya, Raabta and that s why they flopped. He has many movies, opportunities, it had nothing to do with nepotisim.

Why would Sushant fans go watch a bad movie like Raabta? They arent blind like Salman fans 😆 as for Sonchiriya, its was a very dry and violent movie with poor marketing, no songs or masala, not a movie you average Indian go watch in the theatres. The performances were too good though but they went unrecognized.

If someone from the movie mafia would have been in the movie, it would still flop but the movie would have been called the Indian version of a Martin Scorcessee and performances wouldve been compared to Joaquin Pheonix Meryl Streep and what not 😆

Cannot resist commenting on this.😆 So true .... case in point Udta Punjab. That movie was full of hot air. For all that buzz around alia's "acting" skills, it was nothing more than smearing her face with soot and screaming like a demented banshee here and there. Anyone can pull that off if they are afforded the privilege of bagging that role to begin with!

Let's not take away from the team's accomplishments...Sonchiriya was probably the most critically acclaimed Hindi film of 2019. Neither the film nor the performances went unrecognized by the critics. It really couldn't have been praised more.

UP was same director as that other movie and made much more money. Enough for a success verdict. Despite the print being made available online a day before release.

I watched UP for Shahid cuz I like him and his acting, and everything else that comes with it. 😆 I "put up" with Alia to watch Shahid's movie .... whadyya gonna say about that, huh? Shahid has a strong fanbase and so does Kareena, who was also in the movie. It was absolutely ridiculous how Alia was hailed as the next queen of bollywood or something!
