All the singers from back in the day have no competition amongst themselves, whether its Manna De, Kishore Da, Talat Mahmood, Mukesh. All are legends.

But Rafi sahab is always gonna be another league. He wasn't human, he was a true angel. There was something very spiritual about his voice.

Also Sonu comes in 2000s lot, 90s was Udit N, Kumar S, Abhijeet, Vinod Rathore etc.

Sonu have sang hits for films since 1992 meherbaan for mithoon , then bewafa sanam hits , then barsaat 1995 than jeet 1995 then alot of govindas 90 songs Up wala thumka, ankhiyoon se goli mare, tehro toh sahi socho toh zara many with govinda .... ...sonu nigam overshadowed kumar sanu in late 90's ...and with Aur pyar hogaya , border , pardes, sangharsh , Vastav , Sarfarosh, dil se , taal , jab pyar kisi se hota hai ....Sonu Nigam already was a star singer in 90's.....Udit was constant ...So Sonu is very much part of 90s and have sang more than Abhijeet and Vinod in 90s only

Thats like saying Himesh R was a 90s composer even though he became mainstream popular post 2000.

Sonu's prime started post Deewaana. Before that he still sang some chartbusters but at the time Udit N, Kumar S, Abhijeet and Vinod Rathore were still ruling. It was after they slowed down that the new generation with Sonu heading it took over.

himesh only had one film he started in 1999 ..sonu have many hits in 90s and started in 1992....but one thing for sure sonu have sang more songs in 90's than abhijeet batchariya in films ..count it ..

Abhijeet never was a mainstream singer nither in 90s and nor in 2000... Vinod also had few hits here and there.. Udit and kumar doimated it.... Abhijeet was a strugler like sonu till his and srk yes boss got hit.. Then he sang for srk in few films just that.... Sonu was tried and tested more on govinda in 90s... But he sang preety much on all leaving aside amir.. He had no song for amir in 90s and nither abhijeet lol.. Sonu worked with laxhmikant pyare lal in govinda film dewana masatana too.... The only singer who sang more in 90s after kumar and udit was Sp bala... As he was consistent for salman
