Somehow i agree with you about hatim. He was guilty from ramsha's murder day but after marriage his guilt vanished.

selfish just like Badar from do bol who lied just to marry Gaiti

Badar was selfish but his love was selfless. Badar and gaiti's marriage was coincidence His lie did not effect haroon and gaiti's relationship.

I think that might have been the point or at least I saw it that way. The show revolved around Hatim and he was never a straight up hero. He was a grey lead and a deeply flawed person. He really was selfish. Ramsha was the first person who got through to him and he began to change. When she died and he realized it was his actions that resulted in her death, he changed even more. Then Rubab came along and he saw the biggest changes but Ramsha was never addressed because he no longer had to think about his guilt. The marriage replaced the guilt with paranoia. I think he only ever wanted his guilt to disappear but that would never go away if it's not addressed so instead that guilt simply turned into the paranoia of his marriage breaking. His mom and friend were wise enough to see that getting too close to the family was not a good idea but Hatim was too absorbed in how he no longer felt guilty. He was a passionate man; he presumed that if he accepted his mistake he would lose everything and the guilt will never leave him. He had these strong emotions; be it hatred, be it guilt or be it love. I think he always got wrapped up in them and they controlled him and they made him irrational.

I hate such characters, its one thing to be flawed but selfishness is something I cant stand. I had the same issue with do bol too.
