Breaking News that Oxford vaccine is officially declared safe by Lancet and generates immune response (as leaked earlier). UK has already placed an order for 100 million doses. Trump will not be far behind, I am sure.

Wonder if they are bypassing the efficacy tests.

Looks like everyone will be scrambling for supplies.

Indian media is ecstatic playing this news. I think it is too early. One would rather be cautious considering the quantum of pandemic.

So would you say the Oxford vaccine and Sino vaccine are at par when it comes to immune response?Are there no detailed disclosures of the Oxford vaccine as done by the chinese paper?

The problem about the Sino vaccine is that it will most certainly not be available for Indians in initial stages. That is why the results of the Oxford vaccine are more exciting.

हा धुमकेतू सुर्यास्तानंतर काही काळ आकाशात दिसणार आहे. यावर्षात याआधी खगोल अभ्यासकांनी दोन धुमकेतूंचा शोध घेतला आहे. पहिला अ‍ॅटलास व दुसरा स्वान हे होय. पण हे दोन्ही धुमकेतू सर्व सामान्यांना पाहता आले नाही. कारण ते फक्त मोठ्या दुर्बिणीतूनच दिसू शकलेत. मात्र जूलै अखेरीस दिसणारा निओवाईज धुमकेतू म्हणजे आकाश निरिक्षकांसाठी मोठी पर्वणीच ठरणार आहे. कारण हा धुमकेतू दुर्बिणीची मदत न घेता आकाशात साध्या डोळ्याने पाहता येणार आहे.

२७ मार्च रोजी नासाच्या निओवाईज या दुर्बिणीने हा धुमकेतू प्रथमच टिपला. धुमकेतू शोधणाऱ्या निरिक्षकाचे नाव धुमकेतूला देण्याचा प्रघात आहे. पण या दुर्बिणीचेच नाव या धुमकेतूला देण्यात आले. निओवाईज धुमकेतू सुर्याच्या जवळ असल्याने सुर्यास्तानंतर फार थोडा काळ दिसू शकणार आहे. शहराबाहेरील अंधारी जागा निवडून निरिक्षण करणे सोयीचे ठरेल. दुर्बिण किंवा द्विनेत्रीमधून हा धुमकेतू अधिक स्पष्टपणे पाहता येईल. उत्तर दिशेला असलेल्या सप्तर्षी या तारका समुहाच्या खाली हा धुमकेतू दिसत आहे. त्याचा प्रवास सप्तर्षीच्या दिशेने सुरू असून २२ तारखेला तो पृथ्वीच्या सर्वात निकट असणार आहे. त्याचवेळी पाहणे उचित ठरेल. धुमकेतू हा आपल्या सुर्यमालिकेचाच सदस्य असतो. शुभ‑अशुभ असे त्याबाबत काहीही नसते. तेव्हा कोणतीही अंधश्रध्दा न बाळगता या धुमकेतूचे निरिक्षण करावे, असे आवाहन करण्यात आले आहे.
