Even I didnt understand such a small clip. He wanted to probably release his re-edition of his book but what the problem with releasing it before the movie released. So Meghna blocked that. And he could release it afterwards. But Raazi went on to be a superhit so good for him, he must have sold more copies.

Ppl could still pick up old copy of the book if they were interested in reading it b4 watching the movie. N he was paid for rights probably.

I didnt understand the rest. Whether he wrote the screenplay ..What was he nominated for?
