Chpt 18

Shravan's back story was so heartfelt. All characters from your story fit into the larger scheme of things as if on a jigsaw puzzle! Honestly his monologue didn't seem coming from a fictional character but from a person I've known my whole life. Such detailings, such brilliantly pointed out nitty gritty! Aah I think I've fallen in love with your versions of Suman and Shravan! So real yet so dreamy!

This chapter was laid out so well! The confession was short and simple, not beating around the bush, living up to the case's and story's requirements yet so pleasant and lively! As I've already mentioned I can't see them as fictional characters any more but these live versions of genuine, real people being born before me with your mere words! Hats off!👏

Chap 20- Timeless Memoirs

Suvan had two days to do some fielding on the outskirts on Majli village which was a tourist hotspot. They would merge themselves with the tourists while enjoying the adrenaline rush with the various activities that was on offer. During these they would keep an eye individually to people and places to look for clues along with their informer cum tourist guide who would point them to suspected spots on the pretext of showing them around. Shravan had been checking out Suman unabashedly as she came out in off shoulder top paired with a printed palazzo and her hair tied up in a messy bun. He would have continued checking her out but for the smell of fried fish that took away his attention and Suman laughed at the way Shravan got pulled towards the smell. By the time Suman reached Shravan he was already devouring a big fried fish. He looked at Sumanand held up his plate a little knowing very well Suman was not interested. As soon as Suman nodded her head in a no, he got back vigorously to devouring the fish. Suman was lost in her thoughts when Shravan suddenly asked “Spit it out supercop, what is that you want to ask “. Suman laughed a little at how he knew that she was contemplating asking something and then she slowly asked “I was just thinking why does Devika need you as a cover-up to have an affair with the DIG. I am just thinking did she indeed like you because she could have continued her affair anyways”. Shravan thought a little and said “You are right but it was probably that DIG was married with grown-up kids and it might be easy to avoid suspicion if I am a cover-up for Devika and he a family man.People would not easily suspect as they worked together. Apparently post me catching them they continued their escapades in some way off location and were careful not to get cosy in familiar places”. Suman cringed at what Shravan said easily and then she asked after few moments “Devika never had any feelings for you but did you have till you discovered her”. Shravan looked at the waves crashing against the pristine beach and said “If somebody would have asked this question few months earlier, I would have thought before answering but today I can say with confidence that it was probably infatuation with attention. If it was love would not it have made my heart grow fonder when we were staying afar but why did it wane. Why did I not feel the same way as I felt when I was in stuck inthe sewerage? Whenever I thought I might not meet you again, I felt a deep ache rising in my heart and the only thing I wanted to come clear to you. Today I have no regrets and even if I die I ..”. He could not say the next words as Suman had put her palms across his lips stopping him from saying further.Shravan felt his breathing getting ragged as her soft fingers were brushing against his lips and he kissed them making Suman blush and run further from him.

What would be life with Shravan if Suman did not know , she had a sneak peek into it now.He had been fun, caring, flirty, romantic, emotional throughout and Suman had never felt so happy in her life and she was scared of the feeling but Shravan would not let her be as he pulled her from one place to another, one ride to another. They had done all kinds of water sports and even swam against the waves and there were times when Suman had observed Shravan checking her out in her swimwear. She had flicked her fingers and questioned him for shamelessly ogling her but he had instantly replied “You are mine and I am yours. Will you like if I check out other pretty lassies, I rather do that with you and by the way I am not stopping you from checking me out. Before other girls swoon over me, you better mark me as yours”. He had earned a shove from Suman but he had swiftly turned and lifted her pushed her back against the rocks and while entrapping her between his strong arms had rubbed his bristled sand crusted cheeks against her soft ones . Suman closed her eyes as she felt his skin and his masculine scent wash over her and her breath quickened. Shravan had devoured every contour of her face , every reaction of her body and he had softly run his finger along Suman's exposed arms and he loved every bit of reaction he extricated out of it. As the sun was about to set Suvan had walked towards the remote end of the beach and had sat down below the shade of large palm trees that lined the beach. Shravan had comfortably placed himself on Suman’s lap as she lovingly ran her fingers through his hair as they observed the sun nestling down on the far horizon.Shravan had looked at Suman intently and said “Suman I do not know what the future holds for us but I want to make loads of memories with us so we don’tever forget these beautiful moments in the entire lifetime . I have made loads of them today but I guess I will never get tired of making these”. Suman’s eyes had glistened with tears at that emotional confession and Shravan had not wanted that so he tried to lighten the mood saying “So super cop on my way to redemption,should I start by calling up Devika and breaking up with her”. Suman had realized his attempt and had replied back smiling “No, there is nothing that you have with Devika to break off. I think you should start with your mother. Spend some quality time with her which might help mending a lot of things that have got misplaced”. Shravan just interlaced their fingers and kissed Suman’s knuckles as myriad of emotions ran through him and he asked “Suman don’t you want me to first break off with Devika for your own security”. Suman smiled andsaid “If you are mine you will still be mine with or without Devika but if youare not nothing will make you mine but it’s not a question about me , it’s a question about your happiness”. Shravan could not stop himself as he lifted himself off Suman’s lap and placed a chaste kiss on her forehead and said“Marry me Suman, I don’t know what I would do without you”. Suman laughed and said “Are you proposing? For all that talk such a drab proposal”. She was about to run when Shravan caught her and pushed her against a tree and rested his lips on her bare shoulders and Suman’s skin erupted in goose bumps. She was lost in the way her body felt when she heard Shravan whisper “Keep behaving the way you are currently. Do not react, I see some people who seem to be keeping a watch on us. Just play along”. Slowly Suman buried herself in Shravan’s shoulders as he pulled her in to him both not sure whether it was an act, or this was something they always wanted.

What a beautiful chapter ❤️ I loved Suvan's conversation...the trust and care they show for each other is just It was sweet how Suman didn't care much about Devika and instead told Shravan to mend things with his mom. Then the last scene ☺️
