If Adhirath was from the Anga royal family, then how was Karna not a prince even if he was adopted. Then class discrimination also is out of the question.

Also how are you guys? 😁

Hi dear I am good. How are you. Was missing you

Adhirath was not Anga's king, he was just from the royal family. He was either the brother or cousin of the king of Anga. So Karna wasn't a prince, maybe a royal family member

As we know that by the time of Rangbhumi, Anga was a territory (not even a vassal proper territory) of Hastinapur which Duryodhan separated out as a vassal kingdom and gifted to Karna, hence we can assume that the state was completely annexed by either Pandu or Bheeshm during some of their military expeditions.

In fact half the portion of Karna's foster family land was with Hastinapur which Duryodhan gifted him and other half was with Magadh (the Malini area) which Jarasangh gifted him after being impressed by his calibre. So basically he got back whatever belonged to his family (without shedding a drop of blood mind it) from both of them and became the king

I think after their defeat, the Anga royal family escaped to avoid imprisonment/death and after having stabilized Karna came to Hastinapur to attempt get back his Kingdom

Seems everyone is done with current discussions

Have anyone of you read Geeta Press Mahabharata? How different is it from KMG or BORI?

I didn't give an additional reading to it since it's acknowledgement page appreciates BORI and states that although we can't be sure of it, but they have put maximum research into it.

But someone on net told me that in their version Karna isn't a part of Bheem poisoning conspiracy.

Can some one confirm me on this? Aside if it is then what is the rationale behind removing that part

Aside what do you all feel was the cause of mistrust between Andhaks (led by Kritvarma) and Vrishnis?

Could the Andhaks still have some loyality towards Kansa? How would we explain this mistrust otherwise?

Even the marriage of Charumati and Bali couldn't part their differences

Reading some articles on it now.

Something I found: Satyaki was a physician specializing eyes and ENT.

Apparently, he even wrote a treatise/textbook on treatment of eye problems.

Kritaverma was a Bhoja Yadaav

His older brother Shatadhanwa son of Bhoja Hridika wanted to marry Satyabhama. She was very beautiful and only child of the richest Yadava of the time Satrajit. Whoever had satya would have the wealth of the Yadavas

But Satrajit's brother Prasenajit who had the custody of the wealth gets robbed.

Krishna is suspected.

Krishna goes after Prasenajit founds him dead. Fights the king of the robbers. Defeats him Marty's his daughter. Brings the money back and gives it to Satrajit.

Ashamed Satrajit. Gets Satya married to Krishna's.

Then Shatadhanwa and Akrura hatch a plan to kill Satrajit and take his money and divide it between them.

Satrajit is killed at the same time as Pandavas Lakshagriha. Satya runs to Varnavrat where Krishna Balrama and Satyaki are attending the funeral of Pandavas.

Balrama and Krishna leave satyaki there to complete the rituals and rush to catch Kritaverma Shatadhanwa and Akrura

Kritaverma hides. Akrura escapes with all the money and reaches Kashi, where the Kashi king (his maternal grandfather) gives him sanctuary.

But Krishna kills Shatadhanwa. Kritaverma remembers that enmity for the rest of his life. He doesn't do anything till the end, but doesn't support Krishna ever in his battles. Charumati Bali marriage was an elopement apparently against Krishna's wishes.

After Krishna kills Shatadhanwa and returns empty handed, Balrama does not believe him and calls him a thief for Keeping all the money with himself and usurper for trying to steal all the power.

He leaves Dwarka and goes to Mithila..Yadavs are upset at the turn of events.

Krishna then goes to Kashi and defeats the seven huge bulls in Kashi princess swayamavar and marries her. She is Akrura's cousin sister (as per some accounts real sister) . So Kashi king is neutralised. Then he makes a deal with Akrura, that if he comes clean, he can return to Dwarka and remain the treasurer but money will be used for Dwarka.

Balaram is pacified and brought back too.

Akrura makes peace with the situation, but Balrama's and Kritaverma don't.. Kritaverma doesn't fight Krishna directly till the end when he kills satyaki. But he never supports Krishna in anything.

Andhaka Yadava split into 2. One side of Devaka because his 7 daughters are kidnapped and married by Vasudev favours Krishna. Other side with Ugrasen/Kansa but Krishna kills all the men. And daughters and other women move with Krishna as they don't have any other option.
