I think it needed a big army big kingdom and goodwill with other kingdoms to support them. Not many would be in that position though.

Rarely were kings in a position for doing this

No they wouldn't lose their kingdom if they failed

Like I said in my prior response, I adore Arjuna and consider him a better human than Krishna. Arjuna was generally a straight arrow guy (pun intended). Krishna had a lot of darkness that he hid under the smiles. I find Krishna more interesting, not better.

If they were a romantic pair, more power to them. I don't care. If they were friends, also great.

no no i was only wondering how folktales would portray krishna in an homosexual relationship as he is worshiped as god. wouldnt it create opposition from the people who worship him.

this is not about arjun. he is not considered god.

I thought it was fanfictions who paired them up romantically.

You're right. The gay relationship was born in the minds of modern fans. I don't care one way or the other. There was some attempt to pass it off as a folktale. As in Satyabhama asked "why don't you marry him?" She didn't do anything of the sort.

That romance is a modern fanfic.

I was just wondering (deliberately for snark purposes) how that fic/folktale fit into the universe of the Iravan story.

Like I said, I'm very petty šŸ˜†.

I'm also terribly tempted to post the actual.folktale where Krishna tells his wives every hair on Panchali chants his name. I'm surprised Krishna didn't die that day 🤣.

Yes definitely he did. He was a good warrior too, I would rank him above Uppandavas if you ask me.

Ghatochkach was actually angry at Amblush for killing Iravan and vowed to kill him in which he finally succeeded

I always want to see Ghatochkach n Iravan's bonding, despite age difference this vow makes me feel that they had a great bond. Maybe because both were born out of wedlock

Arjuna lamented IIRC. Krishna told him to get back to work.

Since their birth, Pritha’s28 sons spent their lives there, according to the prescribed norms. In accordance with
what is laid down in law, their two mothers29 conceived sons from

Dharma, Vayu, Shakra30 and the two gods, the Ashvins. They grew up under the care of their two mothers and in the society of holy sages, in sacred groves and forests. Then, on their own, the sages took them to the presence of Dhritarashtra and his sons. They were dressed as

brahmacharis31 and students, with sacred tufts in their hair. The sages said, ā€œThese students of ours are the sons of Pandu, your sons, brothers and friends.ā€ Saying this, the sages left. On seeing the sons of Pandu who had thus been left with them, the Kouravas, the learned among the castes and the townspeople exclaimed loudly with joy. However, some said they were not the sons of Pandu. Others said they were. Others wondered how they could be the sons of Pandu when Pandu had died long ago. However, voices were heard from all directions saying that they were welcome nonetheless. Through great fortune, Pandu’s offspring could now be seen. They must be welcomed. Such voices were heard everywhere. When the tumult of the people had died down, an enormous outcry was heard from invisible beings and all the directions

echoed with the sound.
