Dear zindagi is already know that katrina was the first choice and gauri was pushed to take her. That’s the lowest it gets in terms of how she has gotten work. This was after her atrocious shaandaar. She would never be considered for it.

Highway. Kjo asking imtiaz to cast her after soty. Most girls would have to audition for a role like that. And on top of that her performance was overrated to no end by every platform out there

Kalank. She was not fit, and saying she would be upset if she’s not cast and that some things need to be tweaked for her

Udta Punjab. She told the director that she wanted to be apart of the film. This is fine, to a degree. as she herself went to the director and no one forced him to allow her to do the movie.
But there were also rumors that shahid slyly passed the script to her without the director not knowing. Other actresses may have gotten the script over her. This would be wrong.

She may act pretty well with her opportunities, but her whole career leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Dear Zindagi and Kalank were Dharma movies. We can't question Karan why he is casting her in his own movies. It's his money, his choice. Alia may have been a bad choice for Kalank and the movie's failure proved that. It was Dharma who suffered loses because of the failure of that film so in the end since he is going to be suffering the consequences he has the right to make the decision.

Highway, it looks like she got through recommendation but IMO she knocked it out of the park and justified her casting. No idea who was the first choice for that.

Udta Punjab - This is the first time I am hearing of Shahid passing her the script. However, why is that wrong? Just passing her the script is not equal to casting her or snatching the opportunity of someone else from reading the script? It's not like there is just one copy of the script and no one else can get it f Alia has it.??

And in Highway, Alia did full justice to her role.
I couldn't care less about how she got that film.I can't imagine any other actress in that role.

Imtiaz literally cast Sara in Love Aajkal because she "wished" to star in an Imtiaz Ali ilm with Kartik Aryan on KWK. 🤓
Jhanvi got Gunjan Saxena as her 2nd film for GOD's sake.
Shradha keeps getting films after films, but she gets a free pass because she is sweet?
Sonakshi, Sonam... the less said the better.

Alia me at least thoda talent to hai. (Sorry won't change my opinion😛.)

Also, Alia was quite good in Udta Punjab. She justified her role.

I wilk always, always be grateful for Karan and Shahrukh to change Gauri's mind.. Dr Jug is one of ny most favorite characters😆 Katrina would have ruined him for me... Kat has her strengths which made her shine, like dancing and looks and all but acting is so not get forte😆 not that Alia did anything out of the ordinary but she was better much better than Kat😆 Shah and Kat together in same screen is a snoozefest so I gotta thank Karan and Shah for snatching this one😆

Also this Gauri being forced to cast Alia narrative.. there was no force.. she was given a business proposal.. you want my money, you gotta get Alia on board (I repeat, Thank God someone had better sense) Gauri had all the right to refuse and get some other producer..

English Vinglish wasn't produced by Dharma.. did it not succeed? Yes, Sri was a legend but all yesteryear actresses had failed in their comeback.. Yet the movie did well.. without Dharma, Shahrukh or any other name working at the time

So if Gauri really wanted to work with Kat and not Alia, she would have found other producers and stuck to her choice

But she thought it was a good business proposal so she agreed. There was no force.. it was all business

Also Katrina wasn't the focal point of the movie which she wouldve been in dear zindagi , you needed someone talented to carry that role.

You can defend her all you want. I’ve said my opinion already.

It doesn’t take away the hand holding she gets in comparison, key word here is comparison to others who have made it big. and why she will never be referred to as a self made actress
kjo helping her once is fine- putting in a Rec for her to take her in highway after a shit of a performance in soty. Ok. She’s a star kid and that’s expected. But after that, you are pushing it brah
Half the directors didn’t have her as a first choice, that’s the point regardless if she did justice to it

She gets self destructive when she casts herself In films like Kalank. Like those types of roles aren’t for you, and it’s evident. That’s what’s sucky about it
