Just because Gauri Shinde initially thought of Katrina doesn't mean she automatically gets to do anything she wants like a one man army. Kat can't act at all and even her own fans know this. The producers (both SRK and Karan produced it) have every right to step in and say no and offer another suggestion for the actress.

If Gauri had a problem with it, she could have left the table and taken her script to other producers. She saw a good deal and stuck with it and Alia did a great job in the movie so the producers were right.

Not having dharmas funding. Let’s face it she settled for alia if she never wanted her. Katrina could have done well in the role, probably way better than alias repetitive break down scene she doesn’t know how to get out of her system

Why are people acting like acting skills are suddenly so important? If they were so important, the top actors would be Tabu, Vidya, Konkona, etc. But they are not.

Katrina already proved you don't need any acting skills to be number 1.

Not just Katrina, many no.1 actresses have below average to above average acting skills, barring exceptions like Sridevi.

Anyhow, in my personal opinion, Shraddha isn't as bad as Katrina. She fits well in those girl next door roles. That's all she needs to stay at the top. She shouldn't be foolish like Deepika to give two years to a film like Chhapaak when she doesn't have the acting chops for it. I hope Shraddha also has learnt her lesson with failures in those 'acting projects'. She should continue doing 30 minute roles in commercial films that also have superhit dance songs. That should keep her afloat for the next five years.

Can't believe she is 33 years old. She looks 26-27. She has a bright future if she plays her cards right.

Sorry but the world doesn't work like that. Like I mentioned before, filmmaking is a collaborative medium. Gauri's opinion alone is not the only thing that matters especially if the producers disagree with it. She had every right to walk away if she didn't like their suggestions. Compromises are a part of both business and life itself.

RCE and Dharma produced the film and they won't put their money into a project they're not personally satisfied with. They didn't think Katrina was appropriate for that role and Gauri agreed with it since it was important for her to keep them as producers. If Kat's casting mattered that much to her, she could have left and found someone else to produce for her.

Because in the nepotism debate....the biggest point was that Nepotism breeds mediocrity....and Shraddha is a poster child for mediocrity....so people are being asked ki Bhai iss stand ka kya hua??....

nepotism gaya tel lene...because....its their favorite on the firing line now.....now its not about nepotism but manipulation and bullying and snatching...and all that jazz....pray who was endorsing all this? not me??nor did I see any one else.... For me the only debate is nepotism....kitna fair hai if one is using their own money.....the rest wasn't even debatable..as manipulating, bullying, snatching roles is wrong in any book...

Shraddha might be a very good human being.

But she is a nepo product. Unlike Katrina who blazed through the Mumbai fashion scene, Shraddha only got the movies due to her last name. When outrage against nepotism is at its peak, you choose this time to uphold a substandard nepo product as the numero uno?

Using that logic, someone who’s exceptionally pretty / good looking also had it easy coz they had god gifted good looks and good features ....as much as we love Aishwarya for being an outsider, did she struggle to get her face which was her main selling point? she struggled in a lot of other aspects sure, but her battle was half won when she was blessed with those looks...

I’m sure she had it easier than someone like vidya who is beautiful but not glamorous in the conventional sense.
