That is the line of the movie. My cousins and I use to remember this movie by that line when we were in grade school.

"Neecha aja beti. Upar aja moti." 🤣🤣

I wanted to post that line alone to describe the comedy but I thought it might be a little rude.

I know what U mean, everything is considered offensive nowadays

I liked her “ Seeta” performance too, you know the calm one

I couldn’t find a clip but the scene where Dharma & co take out Seeta for work ( thinking she is Geeta) and wait for her to climb the ropes is funny...

Hema’s innocent expressions were spot on

I know two polar opposite characters in the same movie. But she nailed them both!! 👍🏼

The movie is just timeless. Hema fits in seamlessly.

Reminiscent of her character in Sholay. It was also a better made movie.

But Chalbaaz has it’s own moments.

“Aaj Sunday hain .. Aaj Sunday hain... Toh? Toh? Din main daaru peene ka day hain.”

“Main ek chota sa pyara sa nanha sa baccha hoon”

Mai madira nahi peeti ji

Baaaalllllllmmmmmmaaaaa

Its Sita aur Gita for me...

Can't ever get over this :

Mami -- Niche aa ja beti

Gita -- Upar aa ja moti (with hand gesture while sitting on a ceiling fan)

Chaalbaaz was good too for Sridevi's acting. Along with her, Anupam Kher, Rohini Hattangadi, Annu Kappor and Shakti Kapoor were good too..

Sita aur Geeta, however, remain a classic with Hema Ji's effortles chemistry with both Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar. Excellent ensemble cast (especially Manorama), great music and wonderful visuals (even for that time) ended up making it what we fondly call it today -- A Classic.

The comedy wouldn’t have been so effective without Manorama (Chachi)

She was sort of the straight man or was Satyendra Kapoor (Chacha) the straight man?

One character that really annoyed was the Dadi maa

She was helpless with Chachi and her brother’s atrocities against Sita

even doing nothing not even expressing outrage when he removes her Saree and tries to molest her or more

But when Gita ( as Sita) tries to give it to him back Daadi is outraged and scolds her 😲

Has this movie been banned already for it’s body shaming or not 😛

Comments almost saare SAG ke liye hai but Sri in Chalbaaz is getting more votes.. 🤓
