See Sushant gave an earnest and very adorable, heart felt performance in KPC. I loved that movie, just because of his innocence. Amit and Raj were also great, acting wise, Raj was probably the best, but we all knew Sushant from Pavitra Rishta and Kish Desh Mein, so for most of us, he was the reason why most of the people saw KPC.

Dhanush on the other hand gave a great performance. Obviously it was an author based role, but Dhanush took it and hit home run. He had a much complex role than Sushant's and he nailed it.

If someone thinks Sushant gave a better performance, I would respect it, but sorry you can't have the cake and eat it too, by disrespecting and downplaying Dhanush.

The only valid point would be, that Indian awards are shit, and how can anyone who has been in moviws industry so long win a best debut award, just because language is different.

2016 was tough tbh, Aamir in Dangal, Shahid in Udta Punjab, Amitabh in Pink, Manoj in Aligarh. All were very good performances. It isn't straight up trash winning over Sushant. But him winning would have been deserving.

For me the best acting performance that year was Nawaz in Raman Raghav 2.0, he didn't got nomination.

Manoj in Aligarh💔 my most favorite performance even more than SRK in fan that i absolutely loved.. that movie deserved so much more

At the bold piece... this! No doubt Dhanush is a great actor, but him winning Filmfare best debut in 2013-2014 after he won national freaking award in 2010 is a bit of a joke seriously.

sushant for a debut actor in a movie, gave a performance worthy of a debut award.

If you personally disagree, so be it.

similarly, he wasn’t nominated for sonichirya or chichore, but say a Bhumi was nominated for sonichirya and Nitesh was nominated under best director and his movie under best film.

Like, I find Indian awards that a bit comical. You nominate chichore for best director/ film, but the cast doesn’t get a nomination.
bhumi and Ranvir get a nod for best actress and supporting actor, but Sushant doesn’t. I am not sure but didn’t sonichriya also got a best film critics nom?

Awards SUCK! it’s a good way for industry people to kiss ass and keep tooting their own horn. Like article 15 was produced by Zee. Guess who home some awards for article 15 at zee Cine awards.

A little OT, but wasn’t junglee pictures called out for being owned by Times India (or something like that), and they produce many events like award shows and that one year Bhadhai Ho and Raazi both produced by Junglee Pictures, swept all the awards.
