no.. Kahani and Vidya got much more hype.. Maybe because it was one of those few times that a movie worked without any romantic angle or hero

Exactly she carried it on her shoulders like Sushant carried MS Dhoni. People here debated it for pages. Anushka Sharma mentioned it on KWK. It was so well debated that PC was asked about it numerous times.

Not when performance are compared. But you said a film has to have hype. So when film hype is compared you should think how much more name recognition Aamir has over current actos. Just saying.

Point is, even if some say Priyanka deserved the award, no one can say Vidya did not or she used wrong means to get it

Similarly, While for some Sushant might be deserving, no one can really say he was unfairly robbed of it since others in the category including the winner was deserving too

So Sushant not winning the award really did not have anything to do with nepotism or the industry being mean to him

UP as a whole did. Interestingly Udta isn't talked about much now . It's his Haider performance which is still spoken so highly of.

Filmfare gave nominations and awards to Sonchiriya but din't even nominate Sushant. Jitesh is now faking love in his condolence post.

He gave numerous critically acclaimed performances in his seven years. Look at how many awards he has which is 0. Compared to the likes of a mediocre actor like Aloo. To me that says something. But to each its own. Yes there is no way to prove anything but if people don't ask tough questions we will never know. So I will ask questions where I feel necessary.

Just like if a mediocre debut like Ananya won the best debut award I would be very upset if Tripti doesn't get something next year.

Haider is Shahid's best performance till date.. That doesn't mean UP performance wasn't great.. I remember that the performance was critically acclaimed

Competition.. Its all about competition.. What Alia got or did not get is really irrelevant.. Even if we say Alia bought all those awards, its not like if Alia hadn't bought it, Sushant would have gotten it.. Sushant's performance was never deemed as the best of any year, even by critics or audience for that matter..

Jitesh had posted about two films after its release praising to the skies - Gully boy and Sonchiriya. Not surprising that both had lots of nominations and awards. Just very odd that Sushant was secluded and was not even given a nomination in critics choice category.

Yes he never had any insider calling him Merl Streep or comparing it to their own best performance. But he recieved plenty of accolades for his film if not as much as the people who won awards that year. You yourself called it tough competition. I find many of Aloo's performances overrated which she won awards for.

Again Ananya winning it for nothing challenging in SOTY 2. And Tripti not for doing a role which requires many actress years of experience before they can carry with confidence. It will require some tough questions on my end. You can feel free to disagree.
