I don't know what others are talking about but I think Kareena is unique in her own way. She is the only actress I can think of who came in became an overnight sensation despite many flops and having meh-average movies (I don't know how mujhe kuch kehna hai is considered a hit). It's easy to say well yeah she was a star kid but other star kids launched around her and they disappeared Tusshar, Esha, Abhishek. She also continued to work without any hiatus. There were no breaks after marriage or kids. Even after 20 years she is still relevant in cinema. Other than Priyanka all her contemporaries are gone and she is still here, an A list celebrity.

shradha is in 30s but i always club her with alia in late 20s..i guess more than age it is when you enter and who your contemporaries are..

for eg..karisma and aish may be same age..but aish always categorized younger coz she debuted much later than karisma

I think even those who are still getting work like Jackie, Mouni, Bhumi, RakulPreet, Taapsee, Neha Sharma, Huma, Nushrat, Richa Chaddha, Tamanaah, Radhika Apte are also successful enough. It's commendable that so many of our current actresses, whether mainstream or offbeat are above 30. Just goes on to show that the whole age-shaming is so irrelevant.

Exactly. I think age-shaming is slowly on the wane, though we do encounter it at times on this very forum.

Very few girls are leaving schools to chase their dream. Nowadays, beduting age of female leads is between 22 - 25. In earlier days, it was between 14 - 17. Their peak would come seven or eight years later. So age is shifted.

Good thing is, young girls of vulnerable age (Rekha, Sridevi, Karishma) can no more be exploited by Bollywood biggies.
