Yes, and they have contaminated every part of the demand-supply chain. The whole vision is corrupted by the nexus between star kids, the big production houses, and the media.
I also feel audiences have a limited role to play in this. If the slick, well-made, entertaining films which are marketed well have star kids, there is very little most people can do but gobble it up. It's like agency is taken away from us, because most people don't exhibit that kind of analytical skills anyways to process the extent to which we are force-fed a certain product.
It's like advertising where the product is the star kid and there is a relentless upsurge of activities to convince us they are the best options available to us.
The whole demand-supply chain has been hijacked by the starkid narrative. There is very little we can do.
