Did you ever get a chance to read F. Scott Fitzgerald, any of the work? You may know about The Great Gatsby. anyway...this is irrelevant for this particular discussion but thought to let you know as I've been discussing with Bucky about classic novels...we like...I will take break now........I will discuss that stupid valedictorian system later when I'm back......it relates to school's stupid favoritism.......sometimes they give unfavorable one 96.49 to stop their A+ so they can choose....their fav. and if you say anything.....they will give you a talk about unethical override etc..because they know they are unethical so covering their face......
I read the The Great Gatsby. I know about the other books you have mentioned but haven't read them...I guess I just have a hard time connecting to those books. But one of the classics that I really liked was Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
I'm more attracted to cultural/historical fiction and dystopian novels. My all time favorite books are The Giver by Lois Lowry and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I actually cried when I read the Kite Runner...it's a sad but moving book. Have you read it?
About the valedictorian system....my sister had a high gpa because she took a lot of advanced courses but then they decided to change the grade value of some of her classes in her senior year and that brought her GPA down...it was unexpected so she was very disappointed. One of my teachers told me she caught a valedictorian cheating in the last month of school and she reported it but the school did nothing as all the valedictorians had already been decided....that's the problem with these kids though...they only work hard for the title not for actually learning...many (not all) reach this title using unethical ways such as cheating so it brings down the actual value of this title.
lol hahaha...i'm trying to get priya from "ek alfaaz ki awaaz" tag (2-3 words) from the forum awards 🤣*hides from priya as she waits to throw some tomatoes*🤣
Hi Meena! I cracked in laugh.......when I saw your boloji or something earlier today.....

I agree about stress in education from an early age first stress to get into your chosen secondary school, then university and then job.
I felt the stress for admissions for secondary school, then more intense from secondary school onwards. Grades are not everything and do not guarantee success in your career
Up till high school, students get to decide how much they want to challenge themselves by choosing to take advanced or honors courses or not...but in college, things actually get more serious and advanced as you are inching towards a goal of obtaining a degree in a certain topic...in high school there is no specific goal besides graduating lol
