Television runs on different plane in india

Most of the people who contribute to trp don't use instagram, Facebook or even google the actors. It should be family oriented , and should have some semblance of romance which isn't even that big of a requirement. Little promotion is required , tv sets and costumes are shared, no storyline at all. They can go on for years with little costs or effort in form of creativity.

Look at kum kumbhagya the trp topper, there is absolutely no story line , runs due to leads and the villain but it continues to be there because people apparently appreciate it.

I agree with what you say. I too don't understand how TV audience sees things, some shows are damn overrated and crap to the core. My point is that people can't get away blaming everything on audience by saying audience yahi dekhna chahti hai. We do have accepted outsiders and talented new comers, Sushant was never rejected by the audience, his first movie did well.

Content also matters like in case of Ayushmann, but then people have accepted him

But, yeah, I admit that people too are responsible for failure of talented actors and quality movies. We need to raise our bar and understand the talent and quality, somethings are changing though, Panipat is an example. And Big stars movies are flopping.

The author is being sarcastic. She is trying to say that we get what we deserve. And we deserve a Disha Patani more than a Taapsee Pannu.

I have always praised Tapsee more than Disha! She is saying we deserve Disha more ? I get it she is being sarcastic. I think she might mean the general Indian audience.

Yes, ofcourse

It is a two way effort, there was time when shows like shanti, banegi apni baat, rajni etc were watched and appreciated. Only audiences can't be blamed!
