Isn't it pretty clear that Shusharma was the best friend of Duryodhan who sacrificed himself for his friend without any expectations??

Lately I am feeling bad for Shusharma, guy gave hardest time to Arjun, did for Duryodhan what only a very dedicated and honest friend can do and yet both these positions go to Karna😡

There are bits and places where he shows some affection to Arjun but that is probably just a praise for his skills or something. See as I think he wanted Hastinapur to prosper, and for that a king was needed, options were Dury and Yudi, I guess everything suggests he would have preferred Dury in such condition.

Actually ashwatthama was a true frnd of duryodhana not a blind followers .

He was neutral from both sides kaurav Pandavas.

Karna actually gave dhoka 2 him by not killing Yudi, bheem & twins as per his promise 2 Kunti.

Ashwatthama became negative only after drona's death but still tv series project him evil from starting

Okay so since topic name is changed, here are my reasons why Karna Duryodhan friendship is highlighted -

Duryodhan's side I guess is justified so about Karna -

Him fighting in the war is good reason why. Firstly, there was nothing in him in the war. He was fighting for two reasons 1) Duryodhan and 2) to Kill Arjun. If Duryodhan would have won the war, he would still be Duryodhan's sidekick. Had he killed Arjun. he would be called slayer of Arjun which is a title he would orgasm over for sure but again, nothing more than that. So he was fighting for supporting his friend and for killing Arjuna, he was ready to let go of all the other Pandavas.

Also, he did not promise he will not capture Yudhishthir, he promised he would not KILL them so he also knew the way to support Duryodhan as well.

I absolutely agree that Krishna and Kunti were just taking turns to come manipulate him, but he was not some Dharmic person to have stuck to so called Dharma. He always did what he wished to. So him not agreeing to go to Pandava side would mean he is loyal to Duryodhana. Now he ofcourse knew Krishna was fooling him about the throne, but he would have been part of the victorious side and also most probably remain alive. So in this case I do hold him in regard for sticking by his friend. He did prove to be a good friend.

He wanted 2 marry balandhara bheem's 3 wife but she loved bheem.

I really feel it is. It is hard for me to believe he was dying to make kids NO WAY RELATED to him the king while he sat there in white clothes with no sex for eternity.

I think one of the reasons of tiff between Ashwathama and Karna was that Ashwathama didn't like undue importance Duryodhan gave to Karna, not just on politics but also in personal level. He felt that he deserved that highlight and love (and the position in the innermost circle) much more than Karna

Although I do feel that Duryodhan's friendship was pure and Karna was a true friend as well, but Shusharma and Ashwathama had no less feelings for Duryodhan not sure why didn't their feelings get highlighted.

Exaggeration of Karna is a completely visible throughout but even the epic keeps DuryKarna friendship at some high stand
