The problem is Kjo doesn't have enough money to spend on big projects, doesn't even have the credibility of turning a huge budget movie into an ATBB. So how does he lure in financiers? By showing the lead of his next movie is huge, audiences love him, media loves him, movie is sure shot ATBB.

Rendezvous with Simi Garewal is 1000x a better chat show than Koffee with Karan. Period.
