Was Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara really the best movie of 2011?

It swept all the awards but the movie was alright, IMO. Very predictable and cliche.

No-One Killed Jessica and the criminally underrated Delhi Belly were better movies, IMO. But they got swept under the carpet and ZNMD walked away with all honours👎🏼

ZNMD was a run-of-the-mill friendship saga which had a handful of favorable moments. Except for the beauty of Spain, the package hardly consists of anything worthwhile. the acting saved the apology of a script. Beautiful locales, cinematography etc. but where was the substance?

No-one Killed Jessica was gritty, realistic, had moments which were genuinely emotional and Vidya Balan delivered a killer performance.

Delhi Belly was a bit puerile, but clever comedy. The genius of this film is the script by Akshat Verma, which takes several well-worn plot staples and turns them into something entirely fresh and unexpected.

Both movies are better than ZNMD for me😕

The Dirty Picture was the most entertaining film that year.

Best film on the basis of pure cinema was Stanley ka dabba.

I also lowkey liked Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.

Delhi Belly was decent but not memorable. NOKJ was too slow plus Rani's hamming ruined it for me. ZNMD was a snooze fest.

Stanley Ka dabba should have won the best movie award IMO

I didn't like NOKJ because crime patrol had a similar episode based on the same incident so I knew what will happen next it was predictable

Zoya mata ki film thi, so obviously awards ki barsaat toh honi hi thi.

I love ZNMD, but nah it was no way the best movie of 2011.

Zoya tab mata nahin thi kyun ke uski pehli film flop thi kisi ne dekha nahin tha (Max no. of people who go gaga over LBC watched it after ZNMD)

Lekin haan lobbying se hui thi saare awards milna. Akhtars lobby hard to get awards for their films, it's the same with her next two movies. It became easy for them to lobby and get the awards coz the movie made money (Still Zoya's highest footfall film). Multiplex Film + Box Office Happy = Awards. Yahi hai rule.

I am glad people remember Stanley Ka Dabba. I always thought it's an underrated movie. ZNMD was based on friendship and with big star cast with popular songs, so obviously, it was noticed much more than any movie. I like the movie but I prefer Stanley Ka Dabba more.

No one killed Jessica was based on true story and it's a depressive topic to be liked by many, though, I prefer such movies but like I said, people love light hearted, fun, movies more than such movies. But even then I preferred Tanu Weds Manu as more entertaining over ZNMD.

Haven't watched Delhi Belly. So can't say about that.
