Lockdown has me extremely bored, so I thought I would stir the pot a tinsy tiny bit.

Disclaimer: this is fictional couple and obviously their situation has been manipulated for dramatic effect so I understand a lot of the badness done from both couples was for trp. But again. I'm really bored.

So does Abir deserve Mishti?

I'm not talking about long haired Abir. 1.0 Abir... he was a gem and could not be faulted and had Mishti's back like no other. However during the break up period with him choosing his brother, Abir deprived Mishti of a few things. Abir was the one who chased Mishti and was incredibly flirty with her and was eager to start a relationship with her but when the going got tough he got going. He's human and he made a mistake. Understandable. He has to this date never apologised for the words he used for Mishti, basically calling her out on her insecurities.

Still Mishti returned and fought for them. And why not, Abir loved her like no other and this was so out of character for him. There had to be a reason behind his action. And time and time again, he broke her heart. For his brother. He apologised and got Mishti back

But whats to stop him from doing this again?

Also any other girl, I think, would not forgive him. At least not so easily as Mishti did. I think the only reason she forgave him is because she is a broken girl. She at a young age went through a traumatic event. She has severe abandonment issues and even with her BP and BM she hasn't been accepted by the Maheshweris. The mere fact that they allow in their presence for their adoptive daughter to be called to as the "adopted one" would leave any child insecure and a little broken. That's why she isnt able to distinguish the difference between love and favours. Also they never legally adopted her. Shes still an Aggraval. So now for the first time someone has loved her. Really and truly loved her. Trusted her and had her back. And suddenly that was ripped away from her for the most non excuse ever. But she craved that love no matter how weak it made her look. Her hard work paid off and she got her love and they would be together forever.

Now from here folks is where I ask the question does Abir deserve her.

After their marriage Abir was the perfect husband, for all of 2 days. Then he chose Kuhu over Mishti and called Mishti out on her lack of family. Her parents. See to me, Mishti isn't as strong as everyone says she is. To me she is a broken human. Broken by those who were meant to protect her. Broken by those who were meant to build her up. She could easily call Kuhu out on being illegitimate and say that she is also from a broken family , she could call Abir out and say the same to him. But she doesn't. I wish she did. It would be nice to see the shoe on the other foot. Again mishti forgives him and Abir doesnt really apologise for what he said. Which is mistake number one because this a massive betrayal but Mishti is so used to being called a home breaker she takes it from Abir as well.

I think those words despite being accidental in that case is an act of betrayal because she had confided in Abir, she gave him a map of how best to hurt her and entrusted him with it and instead he used his knowledge to hurt her. To cut her. Then things run smoothly for a while until Abir compares Mishti to his mother. The same mother that threatened him. Threatened her. He doesnt trust his mum. He calls her a villain. Where does Mishti stand with him in that case. Then he left her at a resort. Anything could happen. What if Kunal never spoke to him. Would he go back?

Abir doesn't have the typical TV Male anger issues. He is however impulsive. And it's this impulsive behaviour that might result In his marriage falling apart. I hope after shooting resumes Mishti goes to the Maheshweris and isolates with them (jasmeet can be elsewhere because she is a bully. Mentally abusing children for years. She should go to jail for her crimes.) And Abir can see just how much he is taking Mishti for granted.

The way I see it. Mishti is Abir's wife and he now thinks he can never lose her. Unless his Mum does something. Shes the greater threat. But he forgets he is his mother and fathers son and if the mere fact that Mishti's parents are bad people for divorcing and their child bests the brunt of their mistakes and that characteristic runs in her veins, then the same goes for Abir. He is also from a broken home. The only difference is he isnt adopted.

I am not team Mishti and I'm not Team Abir. I could easily write the same for Mishti but personally her character is a bit too weakly written for me. She should be stronger. She topped her class at college and has no job. She should have her own business. Instead she makes random stuff her business and sticks her nose where its not needed. She wanted a career and now all she wants is to be with Abir but that cant be and shouldn't be everything. It's so not 21st century like. Have the career and get the man. Do both.

Again dont mind me. I'm just bored.

I agree with your points about Abir. Honestly Abir 2.0 has disappointed me so much especially after marriage. I remember that one scene where Mishti was crying in their room after Abir decided to sleep separately after their argument about Kuhu breaking Mishbir photo frames. Mishti's dialogues perfectly summed up Abir post marriage: he used to make paintings for her and write poems and now he does not even want to listen to her.

Also I cannot bear to rewatch mishbir post marriage scenes because it makes me realize how precious Mishbir 1.0 were.

Unfortunately today I rewatched Mishbir's last argument before lockdown, and Abir's words toward mishti hurt me so much. How on earth is Mishti the same as big ben? this is so not fair.

I really hope writers redeem Abir's character since they have had enough time to think due to the lockdown. Otherwise I am losing interest in Yrhpk

No abir does not deserves mishti but more than deserve its about what we want. Deserve is something that is judge my actions . Abir actions are still justified abir does not want a home breaker tag for mishti as he knows that his mother just need a chance to prove it and differences between Kuhu and mishti will give her. Abir knows that family will support Kuhu as Kuhu is an ideal dil and after 2 days mishti is still an outsider. (Nidhi ketu ) always say that Kuhu is best apart from kunal no one has fully accepted mishti so abir is trying his level best (but in a wrong way ) so people can accept her. And in this process there is a gap in their relationship. Yes abir had taken her for granted but there is no denial in his love and he is doing this for mishti as he knows that mishti wants a family who accepts her.

Coming to mishti yes she weak and vulnerable . She has thought for a job after college but after her marriage alliance with kunal she put that in backseat. Abir had given her wings because of abir she has put her thought process in front of kunal and BP she broke the alliance. Sometimes even the strongest person needs a support and that support was abir. Abir was first who has supported her in front of kunal. Which BP and BM never did in front of jasmeet and varsha . Abir has said many wrong things to her during the breakup phrase and the reason to forgive him was just that she truly loves him he is the only one who belongs to her and she can't imagine herself without him.

So bottom line is that abir may not deserves mishti but mishti wants him in her life yes not every phase is good maybe after the end of this track they decide that what's good for them. Maybe mishti prioritize herself and abir realize his mistakes.

Sorry for long post.

Oh, I'm so happy you got bored enough to post 😊. I hope you're also bored enough to read through my long reply 😆, I get a little carried away when I write.

I do think that Abir and Mishti really need to talk and listen to each other. I also agree that all this drama 4 days after marriage is a little much. But I'm going to make some counter points that struck me and also just because I like to play devil's advocate.

You mention when the going got tough, he got going - but he didn't really, at least not the first time things got tough. He trusted her when no one else (including her family) did, fought with his brother for her, stood up for her with her family once they found out, decided to leave his house after marriage for her, and didn't even believe his mom when she tried to feed him a lot of BS about how she knew before about baba and didn't tell him. He faltered only when his mom put an untenable proposition before him and that too when he was really vulnerable after finding the truth about his baba. He made a bad choice and that resulted in a lot of heartache for both of them. She also made a choice to fight for him instead of giving up.

He was ready to give in and talk to her when that whole thing with Kunal blew up on their faces. Even after that, he was ready to talk but his jealousy got in the way. He behaved terribly when he was jealous.

He never apologized for his words exactly, but the man made a total cake of himself in front of everyone and also announced to the world that the breakup was all his fault. Maybe they could have shown a nice scene with him apologizing for the words he used and how he behaved, but honestly I loved the angst in their makeup scene so much that I don't really wish for that. For me, that would have been a little redundant everything he said and did in her roka, sangeet, and at the temple.

I agree that Mishti forgave him very easily, but she never believed that he didn't love her and the only time she started feeling that they were getting nowhere was when he tore her letter to shreds in front of her. That, and the way he yelled at her for meeting maasi, was when she finally decided to give up. That's also the point when he decided to fight for her.

Mishti is broken in some ways, but I completely disagree that she is weak. She is one of the strongest female leads I have seen in spite of (and probably because of) all that she has gone through. Despite her severe abandonments issues, she never stops fighting for what she feels is right even though she would be accepted more easily if she didn't cause waves. Her fighting for Abir too was not because she wanted to cling on to love, but because she knew Abir and could not believe his words - just like he didn't believe hers. If he had made it clear to her at the time that he is consciously choosing his brother, she may have agreed to part (probably not though).

After the wedding -

He tells her not to apologize to Jasmeet (holika dahan time) because she did nothing wrong, he is not upset she would not say anything to Kuhu either. It's only when he finds out that Kuhu spiked the drink after overhearing them speak does he ask her to let the matter go. She could have told him then all the stuff that happened before, and maybe he would have been less inclined to label it as immaturity. We don't know, because it didn't happen.

When did he call her out on her lack of family or her parents? Mishti did that herself. All he said was "tumhe jhagadne ki aadat hai" and she extrapolated all that about her lack of family and parents from that. But in any argument, what you hear is not always what is said, because everyone has their own preconceived notions that creep in and somehow alter the meaning of what is actually being said.

I don't think he really chose Kuhu over her. But yes, he doesn't understand the dynamics between the sisters. I think he's finally starting to realize after all Kuhu said to Mishti at the resort.

Again I say that Mishti is very strong, precisely because she doesn't always call out the blatant double standards people seem to have for her. As you say, no one is really in a strong place to calling Mishti either not family or a home breaker, but they do. Still, while she gives in for some things, she does call out others. And she feels comfortable and safe enough with Abir's feelings for her to fight with him and put her points across.

He most definitely should have listened to her at the resort. That whole argument looked very contrived to me, honestly. He is being too focused on Meenu and what she might do that he's being a little blind here. I also hope he listens to her like she listened to him.

Now, I want to say in advance that I don't agree with the way he left in the midst of an argument the way he did at the resort. But she is in the resort. They have a room there. What could possibly happen? She and Kuhu were brave enough take on a couple of thugs (they didn't really know they were not thugs) in search of Abir and Kunal. She does most of her detecting on her own. Why does she suddenly become helpless?

That car ride back home, he is constantly thinking of her and he finally spoke out against Kuhu before Kunal convinces him to go back. I think he would have found his way back to Mishti sooner or later.

As far as I can tell, she returned the company for Kuhu's sake. She is still doing work in the NGO (they did show she was on a call). I don't see why she would suddenly stay home. I'm sure she's still planning to help with the app they had planned.

I find her character to be really strong actually and pretty well written, with strengths and weaknesses both.
