Can ANY actress carry a solo film on her shoulders unless...

....they play to their strengths and tread on the well-trodden path which brought them to fame in the first place?

I have noticed that actresses with the biggest BO opening can also suddenly give a much weaker opening with the next release. This kind of irregularity is not seen in the males, especially as they mostly milk the genres they are good at ( Salman, Tiger for example)

Look at Shraddha Kapoor, she delivered a dud with Haseena Parker. This is an actress who is hugely popular with the masses.

Kangana has had major flops in her career except 2 movies, both of which worked more bcoz of d content then her ( Queen opened to a measly 2 crores btw).

So, which actress to you can actually draw audiences to theatres on her own will?

General public has this idea that woman lead movies are usually preachy types with less entertainment factor..even male stars when they tried content oriented movies with less entertainment it has failed or underperformed most of the times..and woman when they come up with entertaining projects(which happens very rarely only) has got a good opening like in VDW, Dirty picture, TWMR2 etc.

So in short for the majority of indian audience the line from dirty picture hold true

"Filmein sirf 3 cheezon ke vajah se chalti hai..entertainment entertainment entertainment "

Female should do fun and comedy movies instead of like dark films all the time. They need to do both comedy and serious films

No females cant (any times they do its usually one off)

Most males cant either apart 5 or 6

That’s because male stars choose entertainment films. If all the actresses did fun entertaining films like veere di wedding, Queen, Tanu weds manu and other light hearted films they would do well. But they choose these dark films that are preachy and nobody wants to watch sad films, we see sad situations in real life. We need fun and entertaining movies and that’s what the male stars bring

Really ? Have you seen Akira or Jai Gangajal or Mardaani 2/3/4 ?

There just Dabangg or Singham with a female in male role. An more often than not they still suck 🤣

You have a point with Akira and Jai Gangajal.

Mardaani series DID NOT suck. The cop universe was very well-depicted there. And they became hits as well.
