Same for the actors too. Every male actor goes though phase when people lap up everything they throw at them. Then people get bored, their movies start tanking. And the rest of the career becomes 1 hit 3/4 flops. Rani, Vidya, Tabu now are like John, Hrithik, Shahid.

I don’t like when people say wow shraddha and parineeti look young. Being in your 30’s is young, it’s not an old age so I get annoyed seeing comments saying they look young

if you have talent and the X factor you can last more years. Vidya is over 40 and Kareena is in her late 30’s, but vidya can carry films without a lead hero and make it a hit if it’s good story. I also like Tabu and konkona they still get movies and get awards for it.

But the difference is male stars are still given a pedestal if they are successful. Look at the way Hrithik and Shahid were celebrated for War and Kabir Singh. Whereas Kareena for very little recognition for Good News despite giving a good performance and the movie being a hit

The movie became a hit because of Akshay Kumar, that's why. Kareena got praise for Good Newzz, but she's not the reason it worked. That way, Vidya and Kareena both benefited because of Akshay Kumar last year.

Good news worked because of all four cast members, I liked all of them in the movie. Vidya had hit movies without a big lead actor before

Tabu would be laughing her a** off, if she ever reads this thread.😆smiley36

Tabu has practically broken EVERY stereotype that people have, about actresses/women in general.

  • She is 48.
  • Has been working in films for years.
  • Well-acknowledged for her "acting".
  • Look quite good (in fact, fit) for her age.
  • Has no attention-seeking PR to keep her relevant.
  • Lets her work speak for itself.
  • Still unmarried.
  • Refuses to talk about her personal life in media.
  • Rarely any link-up, OR cat-fight bullsh** media stories.
  • Never cared about the number game, post 2000.

Tabu is just class apart for me. ⭐️

Unfortunately, female stardom is rarely celebrated in our country.

People would rather worship Sallu/Saif/Akshay for their mindless, cringy films but will never acknowledge an actress like Tabu, because she is not mainstream enough for them.🤢

Thankfully, she doesn't give two hoots about having "superstardom" or "success" in a country that is obsessed with "superstars.😛 She is not worried about what the audiences think of her. 😆
She enjoys being an actress and simply does her work. 👏

Damn you just nailed it. I watched the round table conference where she was invited with others. She being one of the best actresses of this country was sitting quite humble, while others were debating to prove their points and she was calm, mature listening to them properly. I just love her.

She took along break in between for few years

Tabu is an exception

Vidya balan can be next Tabu of industry

Vidyas got talent but got chance as heroine very late in life

Rest all shall fade away no matter how famous they are now

Look at madhuri dixit struggling to get roles

Sridevi was another tabu could get work no matter what age

Thats because these actresss were not really known for glamour in industry

Yes sri to some extent but she had sadma kind of movies

Among younger lot bhumi pednekar may get character roles for long and may be tapsee can extend her career with character roles after 40s

kangana could have but now industry has blacklisted her, her careers over mostly

While Vidya, Deepika, PC especially Vidya who is already 40 still has great line up as she was never famous for her glamorous roles but character lead roles. I still can see Vidya going strong even after her 40s

This is the reason why many actresses are trying their hands at different genres including Alia. They know that if they spent  their 20s in doing flowerpot roles, there will be another good looking young face ready to replace them, so they try to make their own place by doing versatile roles.

Totally agree! Most actresses stay relevant due to their looks  alone and hence they also fade away easily. Back then most actresses would quit early because their priorities had changed.  Now 40s is the new 30s but nothing has changed otherwise.

People tend to blame marriage, having kids, industry perception etc. but the truth is unless actresses learn to reinvent themselves in new roles outside big banners, they are themselves to blame for lack of offers.

Taapsee, Bhumi, PC, Juhi too can be added to the above list, if they continue making good choices. Kangana had potential, too bad she gave into off-screen drama. I find Madhuri annoying, she got such great movie line-up post Devdas, but she tends to pay attention to her dance or looks alone. Even in Bucketlist movie, that had a good central theme, her acting was very disappointing and cringe-worthy. Otherwise she too was getting good options, and could have had a steady line-up of great movie offers.
