Producers can wait though, I don't know why such a hurry , September October would be good, .

Mounting interest on loans and extra expenses to keep it in the cans for so many months. Will already become a loss making venture for small films like these.

How did hollywood manage to delay their movies to October and 2021 🤔

This would mean there would be big gap after lockdown too, where they would be no new mainstream movies for months.

Was really looking fwd to watch this movie in the theatre hall😭

Also, why are people assuming it would be a flop if it released in theatre? I think Ayushman's movies have a ready-made audience

Most of them that are delayed in HW are big budget films backed by big studios. They can afford the initial loss coz people will come back to theatres to watch a black widow, F & F or a wonder woman just like Sooryavanshi and 83. Both the films are also backed by a studio like Reliance. Films like Gulabo are not so the risk of waiting and delay is not worth the risk. Also they probably got a good deal given the 200+ countries it streams in. No one would undersell their film. I guess apart from the risk of waiting, even the offer of a good deal will make smaller producers take their film to OTT.

Yeah, after lockdown ends, there will also be a long gap before new movies release since shooting of many are pending. God knows kya hoga.

At least for the next 6 months, no one is going to visit a theatre.

Talk about yourselves because there's millions people out there who are having mental issues like depression, stress, drug addiction, suicide tendency and anxiety because of being stuck in this lockdown. They just want to get out and live life freely. Go to bars, restaurants, theaters, beaches, mountains everywhere and live life.

Exactly. And everyone I know loves watching movies in theatres. Esp. where I live, in Delhi NCR, people look fwd to movies releasing in theatres for weeks. OTT is no substitute, and can never be.

Did I say people will not come out of their houses for 6 months? Also, it is not just about WANTING to go to a movie hall, there are a lot of factors involved.

Theatres are planning to roll out a social distance seating plan, which means a 500 seater hall will have a capacity of 200. This is a loss for the theatre owners, who may or may not (more chances of the latter happening) accordingly increase the ticket prices. Also, that means booking the ticket will be more difficult since lesser number of seats will be available.

With people losing jobs/taking salary cuts due to lockdown, the purchasing power is going to come down. A lot of the movie goers are middle class people who may prefer to have a party at home rather than spend Rs 700 per movie ticket. Anyway everyone has been overdosing on up content from Netflix and Prime all these months.

Aise movie release karke how much will producers earn? And whatever they earn will be divided between 100 stakeholders.

Talking for myself, I might actually not use my Prime/Netflix account for a month or two after the lockdown is over. Coz I have watched one year's worth of content already and I am sick of it. I do feel content consumption will go down for 2-3 months once things get better coz people are sick of sitting cooped up in front of the screens. At least for the first few months they will want some fresh air, even if it is just going to a park in their housing society.

The social distance measures are here to stay for a while even after the lockdown officially ends; they will discourage crowds until there is a vaccine in place, especially since news broke out that China is having a fresh bout of cases.

Oh and ya, talking for myself, I will actually be skipping movie hall visits for a year.

Not at all. Why? It is just a movie.

I anyways go for movies only when a film is really, really good. More importantly, there is no movie coming up in the next 1 year that I am 'dying' (quite literally) to watch. Movie hall jana is not on my post-lockdown priority list at all. And that's OK, to each their own.

In these 60 days of lockdown, I have missed doing a lot of things, but not one day have I spent thinking 'Yaar movie hall jaane ka mann kar raha hai'.

What I will be doing though [once it is safe enough] is having house parties and visiting all those whose presence I took for granted. Coz that is what I have missed in these months. Also, as mean as it sounds, I am totally gonna enjoying the fact that my maid is back. I have forgotten how it feels to not do jhadu, pocha, and bartan.😭

And I promise to enjoy going to work at least for the first 3 months post lockdown😆
