Obviously it would have been it is written by Bhasa whom Kalidasa ji considered great.

Wow you have seen it? How does the story proceed. I am sure it doesn't make Duryodhan holier than thou

Just think of it though, so even around 4th century AD, people knew so much about Mahabharata n Ramayana that they were writing perspectives on it and westerners here want us to believe that these things never happened.

We clearly know our history of around 2500 years back, what makes them think that people of 4th century didn't know much about what happened a thousand to three thousand years back

Some of the folklores are definitely cute, especially the love stories.😛

And of course, writers lending their powerful pen to shape a character have much impact on readers, more so when the writers are of Tagore's stature.

The new age fictions are the worse though, starting from Palace of illusions to Ajaya, they have the power to mass influence yet lack the high level literature quotient that makes you overlook the creative liberties.

My personal favourites are Arjun-Chitrangada love story dance drama and Karna Kunti Sambad among Tagore's works.

Coming to love stories propagated through folklores or TV, Karna Vrushali love story and Karna Bhanumati platonic friendship remain my favourites.

As an afterthought, do you guys believe in existence of Vrishaketu, Karna's surviving son after war? And of his closeness to Arjuna? Apparently it's mentioned in the Jaimini Mahabharata.

It's quite long, almost 6 hours as far as I recall they of course don't show the whole thing but cut it short.

I watched it when I was young, from what I remember it is simply an appreciation of Duryodhan's bravery and commitment and how he tried till the end. It does not make him into some flawless figure at all. Last scene I still remember. It was beautiful.

I think it is mentioned in many versions of Mahabharata but not in detail. So yes I do believe in a survivor son of Karna. But his closeness with Arjun is something I really doubt

I have read it. It's awful. Makes no point. Palace of Illusions is fan fiction too but at least not everything in it is pointless. Ajaya is basically just overglorification.

The author says, Duryodhan purposely missed the bird eye test in gurukul as he didn't even wish to harm the symbol of a living creature. I could not stop laughing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I read a review of Ajaya a few years ago. It stated that most characters were painted black to glorify the sensitive Duryodhana who loved birds. 😆

Duryodhan ke perspective se book bhi hai?

I thought Puneet Issar felt some connection with Duryodhan so made a play from his POV, lekin book, hadd hote hain log, next what Dusshashan k POV se book??

I guess it isn't too far. 😆

I came across comments by people busy admiring his bhakti towards his elder brother. 😆

I have read somewhere comparing Dushashan with Bheem Arjun because both were devoted to their brothers and if one should be blamed other should do. 🤣
