Action speak louder than words

May be shakuni tell not to be jealous of pandav but his words never match to acton

So I will go by action not by words of shakuni none of action of shakuni proove that he really care for pandav

I consider shakuni villain because he is one because he ask yudhistar to be draupdi in stake so by asking yudhistar to put draupdi in stake shakuni is also responsible for Mahabharata

And he did plan laksh grah along with duryodhan and dussasan

Now I am sharing link from kmg that shakuni is also villain he plan conspiracy of laksh grah to kill pandav along with kunti

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01144.htm

Another link from kmg where vidhur called shakuni too sinful

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01208.htm

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02047.htm

Another above link which show that shakuni avoid war not because he is peace lover but because he knows that duryodhan coud not defeat pandav

So shakuni already know duryodhan will be defeat by pandav that is why shakuni don't war

In other words shakuni know pandav can't be defeatd this is reason shakuni don't want war other wise he is not peace lover at all

So shakuni use gambling game to take property from yudhistar as shakuni know that yudhistar could not defeat him in gambling

If shakuni really mean that duryodhan should not be jealous of yudhistar then shakuni have not plan of taking yudhistar property from gambling also

Another link where where shakuni telling to yudhistar that is u have not still put that thing in stake and that is draupdi

Shakuni say to yudhistar to put draupdi in stake

A peace lover can never ask to put daughter in law in stake

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02064.htm

Another link it was shakuni idea exille of 12 years and 1 years agyatvas

And also in this kmg it is also tell that shakuni guide by vanity

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02073.htm

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02075.htm

Sahdev calling shakuni disgrace of gandhar and vow to kill him

That's what they show in serials and movies, but it's nowhere in the original epic that he actively or passively resented his sister's marriage to a blind man

Surabhi, Shakuni criticized Yudhisthir for staking himself when he still had Draupadi left. He then suggested that the former stake Draupadi, but she later brought up the question of how that was even legal, if he had already lost himself.

Also, while Shakuni may have argued that they shouldn't go to war b'cos the Pandavas would defeat them, that wasn't necessarily what was in his mind, given the presence of Bheeshma and others that he himself pointed out. Rather, Shakuni did initially argue that the Pandavas earned what they did w/ their own efforts and didn't disinherit Dury out of anything. That's exactly what a Vidura or a Bheeshma might have argued

But still shakuni asking yudhistar to put draupdi at stake is bad thing

And shakuni really said that to duryodhan that pandav can't be defeated

Because pandav can't be defeated that is why shakuni avoid war other wise he was not peace lover at all

Here's is link from kmg where shakuni said pandav can't be defeated

Shakuni said this in third paragraph

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02047.htm

So in this way shakuni is also responsible for Mahabharata by asking yudhistar to put draupdi in stake

Against my better judgement, I'm going to make another comment here.

Panchali wasn't merely Yudhishtira's wife or even empress of Aryavarta. She was the princess of Panchal.

There is a section in Karna Parva when Karna lists the royal lines with a claim on the imperial throne. He says Kurus and Panchalas were supreme.

Leaving aside all divinity and shipping, the Yudhishtira-Panchali marriage was primarily a political alliance between these 2 clans so they could take on the might of Jarasandha.

Ergo, during dice hall, it was a necessity for Kauravas to remove Panchali as well as Yudhishtira. They simply could not take a chance she'd claim she was a free agent which, in fact, she tried to do.

That being said, Suyodhana and Dusshasana's criminal idiocy in perpetrating a physical assault and inviting her to sit on the prince's lap was pure malice. So was Karna's instigation of the sexual assault.

Fast forward to the 2nd dice game: the exile contract included both Yudhishtira and Panchali.

https://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m02/m02075.htm

Even the brothers weren't included here. Just the emperor and the empress.

Now, note what happens next. Dusshasana suggests she marry one of the Kaurava princes. We assume it as mockery, and it probably was. But what would've happened if she accepted the offer? Pandavas would've been left without support. Her connections were crucial to them.

The point of all that was to say the staking of Panchali was a political ploy. (I can't believe I'm saying this) It was no worse or better than the murder of the Nishada family in lac house.

The part of the dice hall episode which was shameful was Yudhishtira's staking of her and Bheeshma's two-faced attitude. These were both grown men; Shakuni didn't force them to do anything. The part which came out of malice was the physical/sexual assault on Panchali. Shakuni had absolutely nothing to do with that.

Blaming Shakuni for Kaurava misdeeds makes about as much sense as blaming Vidura for Pandava doings.

I think main villian is dhritarashtra and he is responsible for all things as mentioned in today's epi in brc

He had power to stop all this but he turned a blind eye to this ,infact was part of few of his son's devious schemes

Shakuni i think is villianised more in tv versions

And i dont get his revenge part ab bhi

Those sons were not only kuru sons but also his dear sisters sons

That revenge things actually don't make sense

Ki he is spending eternity for having to see great war to happen

Point is that whether shakuni did anything out of revenge or not

Point is that shakuni also contribute in Mahabharata by asking draupdi in stake

It is said that shakuni didn't not anything which lead Mahabharata he was peace lover which is not at all true

Seed of Mahabharata already sowed by shakuni by asking draupdi in stake and winning yudhistar property by playing dice by unfair means

And shakuni asking draupdi at stake is clearly mention in kmg Mahabharata

Not only in tv but if read kmg Mahabharata too in there also shakuni was portrayed as villain along with duryodhan dussaan

Only difference is that duryodhan use to loose his temper always want to commit suicide seeing pandav prosperity where as shakuni execute his evil plans with out loosing temper
