Okay, so I'm very bad at figuring out gifs on IF, so I'm not gonna put one in here (even though I wish I could), but during the shaadi 2.0 sequence, when Kunal puts sindoor on Kuhu's maang, I noticed that he actually cupped her head with his other hand. Can someone PLEASE find what I'm talking about?!

Sorry, I'm a weirdo. I clearly have way too much time on my hands.

I know what you're talking about but I have no clue on how to make gifs.

Thank you Snow for that gorgeous visual and Meera for requesting it! Even Kunal's touches look so gentle and reassuring, like he's samhalofying her, this precious, luminous being. ❤️

@aqua: Kunal is a mathematician after all 😉

These touches are all the more special because they're small, rare, unexpected scenes. As much as I'd love some more sweet, romantic scenes, I don't think I'd feel the magic if they were frequent. Like now they've ruined the hugs for me. Their hugs used to be special but they don't have the same affect on me as they used to.

I totally agree! When we look at their story cumulatively, it sort of reminds me of a mini-series or a movie. The scenes you get are all the more meaningful because there aren't as many, and you are left wanting and imagining more, because they didn't exhaust all the possibilities onscreen. The more I think about it, and watch their scenes in isolation, the more I am happy with the divorce-paper burning as a happily ever after -- with humma humma as epilogue, of course! 😉

I remember the scene, had recently re-watched on insta, will try to find the link and post it

I think kunal intentionally avoided the 'do you love mishti' question, he knew quite well that he had no feelings for her & as he had said after rishta swap 'main usse hi shaadi karunga jisse maa chahengi'

knowing abir that he would probe further he probably wanted to avoid the question and thus gave a befitting yet truthful reply 'isiliye toh courtship kar rahe hain', so that they get to know each other & thus can settle down easily after marriage (from kunal's pov)

Thanks @peacenfun for the welcome and your response

I agree that Kunal wanted his marriage matter to be closed asap. It will always pinch me that he never cared who he got married to. It was all about his mom's happiness- in fact thats how Abir convinced him initially - that Kunal should get married as it will please his mom. I fully understand Abir always had Kunal's best interest in his heart. However, I believe they never had a conversation where Abir mentioned that choosing the right girl is also important - or did I miss it?

Right from the beginning, Kuhu put Kunal at ease and brought out his sarcastic sense of humour. Their back and forth worked because Kuhu wasn't over sensitive and didn't easily get hurt by anything Kunal said and Kunal enjoyed and responded to Kuhu's humour as well. It reminds me of what Noah says about Allie in the Notebook. "You tell me when I am being an arrogant son of a b*tch and I tell you when you are a pain in the ass. Which you are, 99% of the time. I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a 2 second rebound rate, then you're back doing the next pain-in-the-ass thing." 😆

What's also telling is that when Kuhu called him Mishti's boyfriend, he responded with "what nonsense," because I think for Kunal, especially after Shweta, shaadi wasn't ever about love or feelings, it was about bringing the bahu Meenu wanted into the house. At this point, as far as he knew, that was Mishti. He just didn't want the jhanjat of love but rather a straightforward arranged marriage that would make his family happy, and he had every intention of putting in the work to make that marriage a successful one. With Kuhu, he could sense that jhanjat 😉 and he ran in the other direction to move things forward with the bahu he thought his mom wanted.

Thanks @samanalyse for your response

I love the detail you shared about Abir observing Kunal being so much at ease with Kuhu. I never noticed this earlier that this is why he always was convinced that Kuhu and Kunal were right for each other. I had always believed that his conviction was more due to Kuhu's love for Kunal. But this really fits like a missing piece of Jigsaw.

Love the quote from Notebook and how the two situations highlight the role of friendship in a couple's relationship - something which Abir understood but Kunal seems completely oblivious of.

and you made a very interesting point on Kunal focusing on a simple arranged for the sake of his family vs getting into jhanjhat of love. Kunal was and is such a wierdo - a cute weirdo :)
