Well I guess you need good lyric writer to write something like that and also people who can understand the poems, ghazals etc

I've been listening to old BW music and suddenly this gem came up in my playlist:

I remember it being such a rage even though it's a sadder, slow song and has definitely aged well. Nowadays, every BW soundtrack is either a forgettable hip thruster or a lazy remix of a classic that most likely aren't going to be remembered decades later.
Wth happened to soulful music and adding ghazals? I feel like music like this nowadays would definitely stand out in tunes that sund relatively the same. Thoughts?
What a coincidence, I was listening this song since evening in loop. The answer is now we have people who work for money not for passion.

And Neha Kakkar , Tulsi Badshah and Gazal ?? Better not.
OMG so true. I don't like Neha Kakkar's voice. I get she's the latest flavor of the season like Himesh was or Kanika was, but nothing in her discography is path breaking. And yeah she totally needs to stay from Ghazals along with that whole gang.
But since we still make period pieces here and there, it would be nice if someone brought it back since we still ahve singers like Ratah, Sonu, Shaan, Shreya, Kavita, etc.
Actually a good question.
I don't know. I don't remember which musician was talking about this. I feel like I heard it in Film Companion's adda with the music composers. Bollywood used to have a lot of urdu influenced things at one time. As time went on that went away. So I am guessing this is part of that. Ghazal, qawaalis have that indo-persian-arabic root. Those things are rare now.
