That's the fact dear! On the surface we are educated, we want women empowerment and we keep talking about it. But when it comes down to TV shows, it's the abusive plots that gets more TRP.
I just watched Thappad in FF and I absolutely loved the ending. Sure - certain things I have found quite unrealistic like I said during Maaya 2 that no one comes to term like this magically and not everything is sorted out.
But I loved the open ending they gave to the couple. They addressed one very important issue that - I kept saying ILU but I never sought forgiveness.
And this is the common scenario in every show. In a lot of them, MLs don't even say sorry and get a free pass because of the romance quotient.
Even if Aman dies 9 times for Roshni, it doesn't absolve him from what he had done earlier. Because he doesn't think or see beyond his own standard. So I don't buy it.
And hypocrisy is everywhere. Even in American show. For years, people have bashed April's character because she was religious and a bit odd. But when she was given a proper ending everyone started protesting saying they love her and now again with Richard's diagnosis some are saying April F***ing Kepner got a happy ending so why shouldn't Richard?
Like, are you freaking kidding me? The show has so many characters and you just keep blaming the writer always no matter which path the choose.
I agree this Season has been a hot mess. They ruined Alex and right now I don't even know how I feel about Teddy and as much as I loved AmeLink coming out as the better, stronger couple and got some powerful scenes, there was absolutely no necessity to drag them through hell.
But other than that, even in the earlier seasons it was always fans' disappointment even when particular tracks were written and ended perfectly.
