Thank you for sharing this :) I don't follow Rekhta on Twitter, but I do often check in on the app to read the 'Today's Top 5' collection shers. Two that I read today were particularly beautiful-

diyā ḳhāmosh hai lekin, kisī kā dil to jaltā hai

chale aao jahāñ tak raushnī ma.alūm hotī hai

And this one-

chal saath ki hasrat dil-e-marhūm se nikle

āshiq kā janāza hai zarā dhuum se nikle

Poetry does make the world a little more beautiful. It lends grace to both love, and the lover. Reminds me of what Ibn-e-Insha says to his beloved in 'Kal chaudvin ki raat thi' (one of my favorites)-

haañ haañ tirī sūrat hasīñ, lekin tū aisā bhī nahīñ

ik shaḳhs ke ashaār se, shohra huā kyā kyā tirā

Gar aaj tujh se judaa hain, toh kal baham honge,

Ye raat bhar ki judaa'i toh koi baat nahin

These are strange and difficult times, and here's something hopeful for everyone grappling with the situation out there-

itnā bhī nā-umīd dil-e-kam-nazar na ho

mumkin nahīñ ki shām-e-alam kī sahar na ho

"disheartened or short-sighted O heart you need not be

this night of sorrow surely will a dawn tomorrow see"*

Pewasta reh shajr se,umeed e bahar rakh!

Here we can extend Millat (nation)to Humanity..

We all should do what is expected of us at this crucial time..
