Everyone here always elevates the South. But I always found that industry to be annoying

The only reason Bollywood remakes southern films is because no one watches those films. Most of the world doesn’t watch South films. Yet people always come to the BOLLYWOOD forum to promote and elevate the Southern industry, do we even have a South sub forum? Does anyone even visit that part?

For example I’m sure more people have heard and seen Dhadak than the south version of it - I don’t even remember the title see!

And don’t get me started on the actors from Vijay Anaconda to Tinku Rajguru - theyre all useless and not star worthy

I just find the films to be weird. I rather watch a bad Sonam Kapoor movie tbh

A) Dhadak was a remake of Sairat, which was NOT a south-Indian film. It's a Marathi film. Marathi is the language of Maharashtra, which is in the western part of India, not SOUTH.

B) From high-level, there are 2 types of south-Indian films: meaningless commercial pot-boilers (which are also in Bollywood) and actual meaningful film.

The mindless ones are more highlighted because they're telecasted on Hindi channels for North Indian viewing, after being dubbed in the ugliest possible way.

Having said that, there is some serious obsession with masala films in almost every regional film industry, where heroes are mostly portrayed in larger-than-life characters while heroines are merely an object of lust, which is why most of the major heroines in commercial south Indian cinema are white-skinned north Indian girls.

P.S. I am from North India.😆

First Dhadak is a remake of a marathi industry movie not South... and South industry makes some movies that are meaningful logical and much more advanced than BW movies...

Sairat or Robot or Baahubali's are once in a lifetime things

Regional Cinema cant compete with Bollywood in the long run. They will always be minor leagues

For me Marathi is included in South. Same with Punjabi, Gujarati and Bhojpuri films.

No one watches them and no one cares lol Zoya Factor made more money than some of these movies

Did these regional industries average 10 100 Crore films a year like bollywood has since 2017
