Saw a BTS (yay I saw it before you guys!) where Kunal makes Parul cut the ribbon. It was heart warming to watch that ❤️

Imma go check that out right now!🏃‍♀️

UPDATE: could not find the BTS but I did see a picture of him and Parul.

P.S. according to Ritvik's recent story, he got a haircut and according to me, it looks bad🙄. So, ribbon cutting ke baad, Kunal ki hair cutting ho chuki hai.

I know I will sound negative but I don’t think it is Kunal’s idea. Probably Abir influenced him to make Parul do this. That is my problem with Kunal’s character these days. His character has become too passive. He doesn’t do anything without someone pushing him.

I just checked his story after reading your comment. I think the new hairstyle is a definite improvement over the 90s ka Shahrukh Hairstyle he has now. But I agree it still looks long.

I think that when it comes to his character, the only thing Ritvik has control over is his hair so he is experimenting with it. 😆

People of the AT, whenever you have time, please go read this linked thread and let me know what y'all think of the theorized/predicted progression of the KuKu story. The thread is only 2 pages but it's super long so please read when you have time.

Also, can I ask y'all to let me know your thoughts about KuKu on this AT rather than make the thread a discussion for KuKu😬. The reason for me asking this is because the thread talks about the show as a whole and if it becomes about KuKu, I fear that it will again become a war between the fandoms. That's all, folks!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in to say that yesterday's episode actually gave me hope that there is story left in the Kuku story, but just as a predicted last week, it's going to be verrrry slow and their scenes are going to be few and far between. This seriously reminds me of their wedding phase, when it was their wedding in name, but we only got a proper scene of theirs once a week, if we were lucky. In fact, it was only when Kunal was drunk that we got any semblance of insight into his conflict.

My point is, the model of the storytelling hasn't changed from Day 1. The volume of Kuku scenes we got recently was a huge exception and now it feels like we're back to the usual pace of things, with the focus heavily on the leads and giant gaps in the Kuku story. Honestly, less time-consuming for me because I can just focus on these two and their scenes. 😉

Now what gave me hope yesterday? Simple. They established well that Kunal still doesn't know what to do with a non-ideal Kuhu and Kuhu still does not trust Kunal with that side of her. BUT Abir and Parul made the first step in providing her with people who she can trust to love her despite her mistakes. Is Kuhu hiding the truth and Kunal trying to avoid it going to blow up in their faces? 100% BUT when that happens, Kuhu has people in her corner -- she is not alone at the mercy of Meenu now.

Parul's advice to Abir was great. She has actually understood the girls really well -- Kuhu wears her heart on her sleeve and Mishti is an overthinker. This is why this battle (not against Kuhu but against her own insecurities) is always going to be harder for Mishti. All Kuhu needs to be happy and secure is a loving, supportive environment; if she has that, her 'bachpana' manifests as the innocence and the carefree attitude that allows her to spread joy to everyone and bring humour out in even the most reserved people (Kunal and Meenu being case in point). When she feels insecure, that same bachpana manifests as these impulsive, harmful acts.

Mishti always overthinks her actions and forcibly suppresses conflict, so she loses control over the truth. This ends up backfiring on her when it comes out at the wrong times and places, often as a recoil effect from her own suppression. Kuhu and Mishti's insecurities end up fuelling each other so what I saw yesterday was Abir and Parul trying to break the cycle by addressing Kuhu's insecurities and giving her that support that makes her the Kuhu they know from before MA's marriage. Mishti's issues are far more complex so they basically set the foundation to address them by removing Kuhu as an instigator.

And this might be a bit of a stretch, but with my handy filters on, it actually felt like Kunal was subtly passing on the baton of managing Abir and Meenu to Mishti. He was properly explaining what a mess of a relationship they have and how keeping the peace is never as easy as right and wrong.

Finally, I wish Abir could be as sensitive with Kunal as he is with Kuhu. Parul made the decision to take BB's deal, Parul encouraged Kunal's relationship with BB and never interefered, and Parul told Abir she is happy with what she has. If Kunal is BB's son, then Abir is hers too, as she said herself. She's happy with Kunal's little gestures and attempts and doesn't need what Abir is pushing on him, and in fact there is a high chance that this will backfire. Abir is hyper aware of his mom and her intentions but his major weakness is wanting to "defeat" her once and for all -- Kunal is the one who understands that her issues need to be managed, and that there is no permanent cure.

It's interesting because with the way Abir handled Kuhu, just by being deliberate and sensitive, he put a bigger obstacle in Meenu's path than he ever could with direct confrontation. BUT with the way he is handling Kunal, he is unravelling his own handiwork at the same time. This tells me that along with sisters, the brothers' issues are far from resolved. Kunal's bhaiyopia is obvious (because #manipulativewriting) but Abir is also falling prey to his lifelong need to alienate Kunal from Meenu and leave her completely alone. If it was just about giving Parul a higher status, he is actually in a better position to that than Kunal, AND Parul considers him a son anyway, so why does it have to be Kunal?

I only realised once I started writing how much I had pent up! 😆 Underneath all the melodrama, this show seems to want to hold on to that thread of good writing and I couldn't be more frustrated by that! 😡 🤣

I have to say this that I got so excited to see your post and that too such a long one! And after reading it, my happiness doubled because I was able to sense the importance of the episode and as someone who wants to get into writing and storytelling, that is a big deal for me.

Thanks for intentionally or unintentionally answering my request regarding the Abir-Parul scene. You explained it perfectly!!

Oh! I love the way you see the story! And it seems like last episode ke baad sabko realise ho raha hai ki there is a sensible plot underneath all the melodrama.😆

I have the same question as you do. I haven't seen the parent show but I've read up and skimmed through scenes to understand MishKu's relationship. According to me, Kuhu should have been super accepting of Mishti at the beginning. We haven't been shown the backstory so I am not sure what really transpired between them but from what we've been shown and my understanding, it seems that Kuhu is annoyed that she had to share her possessions, her room and her family. That is what she says on the surface. But my understanding of her character says that those things wouldn't be that big of an issue for Kuhu. The major issue has to be something bigger and related to being neglected by the Maheshwari family and that is the underlying reason for this hatred.

Kuhu tries to fulfill her need for attention by being a social media star and her #kuhuness behaviour we were shown after the leap. She makes good for people, helps them out whenever they need and other small small things. She wants to be in the limelight because she fears to be forgotten when Mishti comes into picture because when other people are in the limelight, it doesn't bother her👏. That makes me feel that something like that has happened before. Now, if it's one specific bigger event or multiple smaller incidents, that I don't know.

We were told during the first rasoi competition that everyone forgot her birthday but Mishti remembered and baked her a brownie and that memory holds a special place in all of their hearts. Kuhu even came and hugged her after that scene, so the real question is: what really happened??

🤗Hi Aqua, the link brought me here..?

One thing, don't worry too much about the parent show. Both Kuhu's and M's (am I allowed to mention her here?😆) background has been changed so much that you might as well just make things up. Kuhu, as far as I can recall was happy and so was Mi who's mother was with her until they suddenly disappared from the parent show. To turn up here with a totally different background!😊😆

This background given to both girls is to explain them here in the show. @ red, I think you hit it on the head with that one. See, both girls are essentially abandoned. Kuhu came first, got used to all the love and being the focus of the attention. Then M came and of course as natural everyone would want her to be welcomes. I guess the creators want to tell us that Kuhu wasn't settled, maybe deep down she was still scared and upset...and before she could feel secure M came and K never felt secure again after that. That really set the patterns of their lives. K scared but cannot express and Mi comes and somehow everyone is focusd on her. I think it is important to distinguish that this is what K believes but it is not the real truth. People who suffer some trauma, get hooked on that and over the years they interpret situation to take them back to that trauma....imagine a 5 yr old lost in a shopping centre, cries her heart out for her parents, get scared and thinks she has been abandoned, forgotten. Then her parents come, lots of hugs and kisses and she is happy again. Fast forward few years...group of friends go out for dinner and K only learns of it later, in her mind she will feel abandoned, sad that they forgot her...to her it will become big, she will say to her friends 'hey you forgot me'...or maybe her mum and sister go shopping, spur of the moment thing but when she learns of it she will be 'they forgot me' and will think of other incident where they did something together without her....what she is doing, not even realising honestly, is applying her trauma of being lost in the shopping centre (feeling scared, alone and abandoned) and letting those emotions colour her present even if it is not the same. She will not be objective because she cannot, that old feeling is too strong. Until she learns how to handle that, for her there will be lot of triggers.

What was the significance of Masi saying to Kuhu that she will help her, one day, when she needs her? It felt like strong statement made by Parul.

Is this a forshadow, maybe, that when Kunal's birth truth is revealed to the Mah's Kuhu will support or stand up for Parul? Or could it be the opposite? There will come a situation where Kuhu needs to speak up to defend Parul, she tells herself she should but doesn't, again?
