This is because a major proportion of film audience are men and they are more likely to watch a mass/commercial film compared to artsy film. Even the small films that succeed, they still donāt make money as much as action biggies like War. This is why most actors try to break their stereotype and try mass/commercial films. We lost many good actors because they went after building up the mass/commercial image. South actors (like Vikram) tried the mass/commercial route to attract more fan following. Itās sad because Vikram was the most promising actor in among his contemporaries. His acting also got affected over years(especially in some so called mass/commercial films). His recent films were nothing but duds. Actors who go the mass/commercial route in the middle of their career should understand that mass and larger than life characters wonāt work for everyone. Some actors are made for it and will be able to sail through.

Nah...I do not get APPALLED at the audience choice if they do not like the movies I like...sorry one has to have a lot of superiority complex in them to get APPALLED...because that person likes a different kind of cinema than I do....If I like a movie...it entertains me....it is a masterpiece for me....and If I don't like ur masterpiece...it is pure trash for me....as simple as that.
I can make fun of the movie and the acting...but not the audience.

Elitist attitude of some people is beyond terrible. I have real life worries and to watch non brainer hilarious fun movie is all i care about. I don't need hypocrites red wine sipping crowd to tell me what should i pay for or not.
people prefer to watch films like panga/sky is pink in the comfort of their homes. The purpose of going to watch a film now days in the theatre is to be entertained and get away from every day stressors. People will watch those films not technically if it is a well made film always.
Tbh people would go to watch movies like sky is pink if they wanted to. Movies like Barfi did well too despite it not being the typical masala action movie and many movies in the past have proved to be hits. So it's not that people will only pay to watch big budget movies.

Two wrongs don't make a right!š
There is no need to feel appaled. They're using their hard earned money to watch a movie. They will pack what they want to watch. A boring critically acclaimed film can always be watched at your own leisure on a digital platform. If you're gonna get ready and make the effort to go out to the movies... It must be worthwhile and entertaining.
Your wrongs and ur rights are just ur opinions...and no one has to abide by themš...I have my own definitions of what is right and what is wrong...and u are free to ignore them...especially in a superficial and flimsy BW debate...š³
