I don't think Kuhu hates Mishti anymore. She is trying to move forward but Jas and Meenu are trying to pull her backwards by targeting her. She wants to focus on her life with Kunal but she is being used as a pawn.

Baithe baithe HC likh di:

What I would like to see going forward is Kuhu being told off in front of the whole family. That will be hard to watch because I love chirpy and happy Kuhu. I want Mishti to berate her and everyone joins in to ask questions to Kuhu and then I want to see Kuhu break down. What I am imagining is basically her nervous system getting overwhelmed with what Jas said and Meenu said and her memories of childhood mixed with people in present and past blaming her for stuff. Maybe she falls down to the ground crying her eyes out, tells them how it was a mistake over and over. (I am full on imagining stuff). Then Abir asks everyone to calm down and sits beside her. He then tells her that it's okay and she looks at him, teary eyed, and tells him it was a mistake. She explains the whole thing with Jasmeet filling her ears to how it bothered her that Mishti was given more importance, how Mishti had told her to stay away from the Pooja and how her insecurities completely shut down her ability to think properly. Abir hugs her and Kunal offers her some water. She profusely apologizes to Abir and Abir being the maafi ki murat, forgives her. Kunal kneels down and asks her why she didn't share all of this with him, after all, he is her husband. To which she replies, "Kaise batati, 2 din pehle tak humaara divorce hone waala tha. Aur uske baad without even a conversation, we got married." She proceeds to tell him how she doesn't know what she can tell him and what she cannot. The last time when she told him everything about her, he broke her heart and used her. How can he expect her to trust him so easily after the last 6 months?? ....I can't think iske aage. Would anyone like to continue this??

P.S. I am so horrible! I wouldn't want someone to go through that in real life. I know how it feels when that happens. Not Kuhu's life experiences but sensory overload. Most horrible feeling in the world. I wouldn't wish it anybody until and unless you're fictional 🙆🏻‍♀️

I don't like these kind of tops.. sadly that's what she's given most of the times. But I love her celebration time outfits.. the Mahashivratri one was pretty!

Yes, most of the traditional outfits that are given to Kaveri are beautiful. I think the whole cast gets really beautiful outfits during the celebrations even the male characters get nice outfits.

When it started, the show was set in a really conventional society where the women's entire lives revolved around the celebration of these festivals along with managing the household, and performing daily rituals properly -- I attribute the level of detail and attention they were given to that. As the show went on, it gradually opened up its world view, which I think naturally means that the characters' priorities shifted.

But more than that, the major difference I noticed was the pace. The parent show took its time with the story and characters -- heck, the male lead of the story wasn't even introduced until forty episodes in. They really made use of the ensemble cast and every character had a purpose and individual plotlines. I think this is in big part because they didn't have the pressure of social media, shipping, and immediate fan responses at the time. As long as the numbers stayed up, they had the luxury of telling the story at their own pace. With the second generation, they adapted to be more social media-friendly -- with a very "shippable" couple at the center of the show -- and this show follows that model.

I think what keeps viewers like us hooked, though, are the very visible traces of their older style of storytelling which did justice to a vast number of characters, and I think this is what appeals to a wider, non-social media audience as well. It's in trying to get the best of both worlds that the show creates these weird confusions and loopholes. It's more like a buffet and we just take what we want from it!

@Nikki: Please be a little careful with the language you are using for Mishti when you air your frustration. We know the ATs are being watched, so let's try to keep our conversation free of A vs. B kind of talk. I don't want to lose this safe space!!

@aqua: I think it's actually interesting how this track is exploring Kuhu's flaws. What was, in one context, her greatest strength, i.e. #keepitseperate is now turning out to be the weakness that causes her spiral. Her aversion to drama when taken to the extreme becomes a crippling fear of confrontation which gets her in more trouble than the confrontation itself would. Both with the haar and with the coffee, if she had spoken up soon enough, she could have avoided the more dire consequences of her actions. I love that we get a glimpse of her hating this about herself -- she freezes up in the moment and before she knows it, then the situation goes completely out of her control. As someone who hates confrontation, I totally relate to this feeling of thinking of a thousand ways you could have handled the situation better once you are no longer actually in it.

What makes this even more interesting is that Kunal was THE ONLY person with whom she used to blurt things out without thinking, follow her instincts and say the exact right thing at the right time, because at the time, their relationship had no definition or expectations. Obviously that's changed now and she feels like she has to be more careful around him.

Kuhu is at Maheshwari house in that white and red look -- wonder what that means 😲

Edited:

I think like you mentioned the pace of the show definitely affected the way the story was told initially in YRKKH. The pressure of the fan groups from a specific couple was not there at that time which gave the writers to be creative and explore the characters other than the main couple of the show. Each and every relationship was shown beautifully and the best thing was that there was no negativity. I think Naitik and Akhshara's wedding rituals were shown for over a month with all the details. They have definitely changed the pace at which they tell the story even in the parent show and this show follows the same route.

And Yup editing my post. I love this AT. I wouldn't want anything to happen to it. Thanks for the reminder Sam 🤗

My head canon, because I am tired of every plotting being done by the negative character.

Both Abir and Kuhu playing Meenu, Abir has read between the lines as to why Meenu is being so nice and all. He has taken Kuhu's help to see how far his mom will go in her hatred for Mishti, just so he can teach her a lesson. Thus he takes the sleeping pill wali coffee. I know its really out there, but I like the bros taking on Meenu and Kunal and Mishti are in the dark.

I had seen the initial episodes of YRKKH when they had aired because my family used to watch it. The way you described it, I get why it was such a success. I would love them to keep telling the story without focussing too much on social media. I want to see this amazing ensemble cast being used to its full potential.

Only if she could have spoken up before everyone finds out somehow but that would be out of character for Kuhu. She is one person who never admits her mistakes until she is confronted. She will feel guilty and worried the whole time but she will only talk about it when she doesn't have to explain that she did it. I guess, verbalising the mistakes makes it too real for her but she definitely apologizes after someone finds out because she doesn't have to explain how and why she did something.

Oooo I love this ‘player gets played’ Head canon. This would be so much fun to watch and this would give Abir something important to do.

OMG! I had this weird thought that maybe Abir and Kuhu are playing meenu. I'm yet to fill in the gaps as to why they'd not rat her out entirely instead of being secretive but I'm calling it. Yeh dono bro's pagal hain, kuch bhi kar sakte hain 😆. I wish!

I love this. ❤️ Everything you wrote seems in character and close to how the characters would react in that situation. I think Abir’s reaction is most accurate. would love to see something similar in the show. Especially Kuhu’s breakdown 💔
