Maybe he just wandered in oblivion after losing everything.

I feel the plane crash is just a cover. He knew what happened after he left off. Knew sona is komo and waited till the child was born and beyond, but he couldn't directly go and help prerna because she didn't need him. Protecting her like a guardian angel 💕
