CHAPTER5 DESTINY'S DESIRE PART I

DOBRIYAL HOUSE

Pia narnab came back. During the whole journey arnab was wondering what is making her daughter smiling n blushing for no reason. He tried to find out by asking her only to find her so engrossed in her dreams that she didn't even listen to him. It was only, when they reached home and car stopped with the jerk, she came out of her trance and headed straight inside the house.

She went straight to her room. But then she thought to check out shona as she was having fever so she went into her room first.

IN SHONA'SROOM

Piaentered and checked shona's fever. It was gone now. Her eyes were closed. Pia kissed her forehead and wished her goodnight. She was about to go when her eyes fell on her reflection in the mirror of the dressing table. She went near it n suddenly abhay's words buzzed in her head- "you were looking unbelievably gorgeous." She checked herself up n down and said- m I really gorgeous??? She was in her dreamland when a voice caught her attention startling her. "Caught you", said shona

what...your still awake...what do you mean???asked startled Pia

I mean I have caught you red handed when you were dreaming about your prince charming,replied Shona smiling mischievously at her sister’s dreamy expressions.

what...oh no...i was...not thinking about abhay, Pia blurted out.

ah haa!!So his name is abhay...tell me you met him in the party na???asked Shona

Pia was embarrassed at her stupidity, “oh...no...I mean...yes...I mean...i m feeling sleepy...goodnight. With that she ran away into her room n locked it so that shona can't come n went off to sleep after struggling a lot with the thoughts of first encounter with her prince charming.

RAICHAND MANSION

Abhay was turning left to right on his bed but was unable to sleep. He was still thinking about party. First he thought it would be a typical boring party where some uncles will discuss even more boring topics like share market, new business projects etc. but this party eventually turned out to be his best party as he met his childhood friend alina and most importantly he not only met love of his life but also danced with her. He was thinking about pia, her words buzzed in his ears- "let destiny decide our next meeting."

And he thought determinedly ... I m not among the persons who leave everything to destiny. I will make sure we'll meet very soon whether destiny wants it or not.Think abhay...think...there must be some way of meeting her He started thinking while scratching his head. Suddenly a wide grin appeared on his face n he said loudly- YES, GOT IT. Then he slept peacefully after deciding that first thing in the morning he'll do is toput his idea in to practice.

KHURANAS RESIDENCE

Alina was also having sleepless night as she was very happy that she met abhay after very long time. She was more happy about the fact that abhay too liked her as she was worried if he would like her or not. She thought her wait is finally over...now soon their parents will talk about marriage and Abhay will be with her...forever. With that she fell asleep with a smile on her face.

NEXT MORNING, RAICHAND MANSION

Abhay was having breakfast when chand joined him on the table.

abhay I think now you should start paying attention on our business. Why don't you to come office with me today???asked Chand

oh dad,suddenly I remember I have to meet kabir as I have to discuss something important with him, Abhay tried to avoid the topic. He started going from there but remembered his last night's resolution...his idea...oh abhay you r so dumb, he scolded himself and turn around.

dad, on the second thought,...baatein toh kabhi bhi ho sakti hain...business par dyaan dena bhi toh jaruri hai. Toh main soch raha tha kyu na hamari saari companies ke bare mein achchi tarah se jaan lun. What say???

that's like my son. You are right. First you should know our businesses. So where do you wanna start from??? Replied Chand feeling proud of his son as he chose business over silly friendship.

dad last night you were saying something about our most profitable company when you were introducing me to Mr. Dobriyal, asked Abhay as if he was really interested in business.

o yes, its Raichand Pharmacy. So you wanna check it out. Good decision. I am going there only you can come with me, Chand offered.

ya, sur edad. He thought- so wait is over. Pia, my destiny, I m coming.

OFFICE,RAICHAND PHARMACY

3 hours have already passed since abhay's arrival. He is walking with some Mr.Dubey,HR manager of the company who was sent to him by chand so that he can show him around. But abhay hadn't yet seen pia anywhere.

Mr. Dubey,i would like to meet the employees also after all they are the real assets of company. So I think we should start with trainees. What do you say???, asked Abhay in hope to meet Pia.

offcourse sir, I will call all of them, complied Mr, Dubey

By the time he finished meeting all them and other imp. persons it was almost 5.00 pm but abhay didn't get to see the face he was dying to see.

are you done with your introductions?? r u sure?? Only these people work as trainee...i mean u r not forgetting anyone ...right???asked Abhay to make sure he didn’t miss Pia.

yes sir, as far as I know...almost all are present here...wait...I think...oh yes...our company has sent a delegation out of town to attend very important meeting with our suppliers. So may be some of the trainees have also gone there. I m extremely sorry sir you can't meet them today, replied Mr.Dubey.

Listening this abhay thought that may be pia will be one among the delegates and become sad and thought- m I under estimating destiny? Is destiny playing games with me?? After all my efforts I couldn't meet you today. He started to walk out of there with sad face and shoulders hung down in disappointment. He lost the hope of meeting pia n decided to go home. But was silently praying to God that he could at least see her face today). He pressed the button to call lift and enter into it with same sad face looking down at the floor but suddenly looked up with a jerk when he realized that he bumped into someone. And was happily shocked to see that person was none other than his dream girl.

She was on her knees collecting some papers which were fallen due to their collision. When she straightened up he noticed that she was in formal office dress consisting white formal shirt with black jacket n trousers and matching sandals. Black clip was holding back her curls loosely and some of her loose strings of hair were coming on her face, it seems as if a moon is shining brightly behind few small black clouds. For few seconds he just stared her as he can't believe a girl could look hot in office dress also. He immediately thanked God for granting his wish yet another time. Lift gate closed behind him and it started to go downwards.

As soon as their eyes met myriad of emotions started flowing through them. There was happiness, longing, love, surprise, in abhay's eyes while there was shock,surprise, glint of blush in pia's eyes. Abhay broke the silence first and fired many questions on her in one go.

oh pia,where were you the whole day??? What are you doing here? Were you out for some work? What took you so long???

hey, hold on your rapid fire round. I ...i was in the conference room since morning...wait what r you doing here?...have ...you...you come to meet me???,asked pia trying to control her heartbeats which were raised at the thought that he not only came to meet her but was also waiting for her.

I was here for some important work but see we met again. You said na, let the destiny decide...see it has sent me to you, replied Abhay acting innocent.

Pia replied feeling suspicious, I don't believe you.

Suddenly lift became all dark n stopped with a jerk pushing abhay into the lift's wall with pia. She was locked between his arms as his both hands were placed on lift's wall n their faces were just inches away. Pia's eyes were closed with ear. Abhay looked at her closed eyes then her trembling lips and couldn't help but think- oh God! She looks so innocent and beautiful. Have you put all your heart in creating her. He couldn't resist the urge to kiss her rosy lips n leaned forward but before he could do that she opened her eyes, gasped looking at their position and pushed him back, though gently, she panicked at their situation and started walking here n there in lift while biting her nails. She was continuously stammering- oh God! What happened to the lift? Why lights r gone? How much time will it take?

Abhay held her from shoulders, relax, just calm down. It must be a minor fault. They will start generators soon. Nothing will happen to you. I am right here with you. I'll not let happen anything to you. he said last line by directly looking into her dark brown eyes which right now was full of fear but as soon as he said these words feeling of sudden calmness replaced fear.

Abhay made her sit at one corner and he sat on other corner but kept his one hand on hers so that she could feel secure. On the other hand pia couldn't understand why his few words made her forget her fears and feel relaxed. she was engrossed in her thoughts when she saw something .She stood up immediately, screamed at the top of her voice, he also stood up seeing her like this, she threw her hands around abhay's neck and hugged him tightly.

Abhay on the other hand was startled at first by her sudden act but then his eyes fell on the cockroach at the corner and he understood immediately what made her jump right into his arms. He saw that cockroach was gone and was about to tell her BUT all of a sudden a mischievous n wicked smile crept on his face. He also put his hands around her waist n said acting innocent- what happen pia? Why are you so scared?

abhay that cockroach...tell me is it gone???replied Pia with eyes shut tightly in fear.

no pia. Infact it is coming close to you...closer...n closer...n closer, said Abhaye njoying their hug.

With his each "closer" word it was pia who actually came closer to him n hugged him tighter...n tighter. There was no space for even air between them.They were holding each other so close that pia could clearly hear his heartbeat n abhay could actually feel her whole delicate upper body against his hard one. Soon they forget about everything n got lost in each other's embrace.

Pia smelt his fragrance and find herself going in some ecstasy of never felt emotions.Abhay felt his desires arousing. He couldn't take it anymore, his one hand made its grip even stronger on her waist. And other one started moving in her hair and removed her clip to let the hairs fall freely below her shoulders then his hand slipped into her jacket so that he can feel her even better and started roaming up and down possessively caressing her back. She felt a current run down her spine n she completely lost herself under his touch n unknowingly moved her fingers into his hair.

They weree njoying their little moment when lights came again and lift started to move which brought them back to reality. Pia immediately pulled herself back and stood facing opposite side, feeling highly embarrassed. Abhay felt a little guilty as he didn't know his little prank will lead them into this situation.He was also embarrassed and worried too because he didn't know now what she will think about him. As soon as lift stopped at the ground floor, pia moved out of it quickly and went towards her table, collected her things and moved towards exit gate as she wanted to run from here and didn't want to face him now.

She was confused, continuously thinking...how can she do something like that?. She has just met him yesterday n she was lost in his touches...just like that...why she felt so good??? She was afraid that he'll read her expressions and come to know that she kinda liked whatever happened in the lift. She blushed at the thought but she didn't want to show it this earlier...after all she has just met him twice.

Abhay felt guilty about his prank and tried to stop her, pia, listen to me plz...I m sorry...let me explain...its not what I meant...pia. He finally caught her when they were out of office.

Pia (tried to free her wrist while looking here n there to avoid eye contact and trying her best to conceal her shyness- its ...its ok...it was not...i mean...just let me go.

Abhay’sconcern soon changed into mischievous smile when he saw her flushed face and took no time to conclude that she also liked it, nothing to worry about - ok, I will let you go but you have to tell me when you r going to meet me again as I have passed your "DESTINY TEST"...AND THIS TIME I WANT A PROPER MEETING..no more tricking me with filmy dialogues.

Pia got a grip on her emotions, NO, I don't believe you'.you must have cheated as you already knew I worked here as trainee.

Abhay sighs' accepting defeat, ok ok...I accept that it was my plan not some destiny's call...BUT...but I was going back home'.i didn't expect we'll meet in the lift...AND I certainly not planned that we'll end up in each other arms, he winkedat her)...so isn't it CLEAR sign for you for what destiny wants.

Pia trying to control her laughter NO...i am a skeptic ...i don't believe things easily...you have to try a little harder. unable to control anymore, started laughing, jerked him away and ran to the nearby taxi stand

Abhay saidto himself, try little harder...huh...well...its just nothing...I can do anything for you.

CHAPTER 6 DESTINY'S DESIRE PART II

IN A CAFE OF MUMBAI

Abhay n kabir were sitting n sipping coffee, talking whileleisurely sitting on the chair.

Abhay smiled remembering his encounter with pia youk now kabir, I met her again.

who??? Pia, asked Kabir

yeah, obviously pia. You r my best buddy ''Have you seenme like this before'.i mean daydreaming n smiling for no reason '.sure it has to be pia. You know every time Imeet her I become surer that I love her.

Listening his words kabir suddenly got a glimpse of alinain last night's party and he wondered whether he should talk with abhay abouther or not. After a lot of struggle in his mind heconcluded that he should not interfere in this as he was not very sure alinalikes abhay. May be his interference may lead to problems in alina n abhya's friendshipand some matters better be left in the hands of destiny. Let abhay find outhimself when the right time comes.

Abhay asked swaying his hands in front of kabir's face, “ where are you lost??? Have you also found someone?”

Kabir cameout of his thoughts oh no, I was jus….Iwas thinking about our band. AR three days had already been passed sincewe came , tell me have you planned anything yet. I mean how we'll be takingthis whole band, our career further.

Abhay replied excitedly, yeah I was thinking we should start working on new songs.But it is not enough. I mean we are talented only we know it but how to tell itto others? We had fans in our college and in some London music clubs but itsnot enough we need some popularity n fan base much larger than that. I mean ifwe release our album who is going to buy it if no one knows us.

Kabir agreed, yes you are right. We should……suddenly a big hoarding caught his attention and heshouted in excitement, Got it!!!!

Abhay asked shocked at his sudden excitement, what happened dude???

I have got our entry pass in music world. Look at there ,Kabir pointed towards the hoading Abhay looked at his direction and smile crept on his face. The hoarding said-

If you are dreaming to make yourcareer in the music industry but don't know how to reach up there, then yourwait is over.

Channel Mtv presents- biggest talent hunt show ever onTV. All you have to do is give auditions with your band. If selected you willhave an opportunity to participate in the international level competitionjudged by super talented n well known personalities of music world.

Winner will get cash prize of Rs. 1crore n contract of an album which will be released jointly by channel Mtv andVh1 in India and Overseas.

Both abhay n kabir got super excited n hi fived eachother.

I cant believe it yaar. Few seconds ago we were discussinghow we will take our first step n suddenly destiny has showed us whole path,said Abhay excitedly.

yes buddy. I m sure we gonna win it. If not win then alsoat least we'll be famous it would be more easier for us then to shape ourcareer, replied Kabir with equal excitement

then what are we waiting for??? Call all other members ofband. We have to do lots of preparations.

DOBRIYAL HOUSE, PIA'S ROOM

Pia was sitting on the bed with a book in her hands whichshe was trying to read since half an hour but could not concentrate as her mindwas filled with evening's lift episode. Shonawas passing by her room when she again noticed that her sister was daydreaming. . Shetip toed in her room and closed the door. With the sound of door pia looked upto find shona approaching her with mischievous smile.

what r doing hereat this hour shona. Its late n children like you should sleep early, Pia triedto avoid her knowing full well that Shona was here to tease her.

oh common di' I m not a kid anymore. I am grown up enoughto understand the reason behind the shy smile my di has now a days, Shonareplied

what do you mean??? Asked Pia innocently.

I mean ever since my di has returned from that party aftermeeting that'..what was the name'. ya,abhay'right!!...so after meeting that abhay my di is not in her senses, Shonateased her sister.

Pia said in fake anger, shona you are thinking too much. You are not old enough for these type discussions.

oh di, in which world u r living' .i am already 15 and would become 16 in some months' n don't forget I am a sucker of romantic movies n sharukh khan's die hard fan. So you see I can not only understand these issues but can also give advice to you. And besides this, apart from me we have only mom n dad in our house so I m sure you don't wanna discuss it with them atleast, Shona tried to dig out information from pia

Pia started laughing on her answer, wondering that she has really grown up, oh ok meri maa. I will tell you. Yes I met abhay in the party. He is chand uncle's son. Then we again met today in the office' I mean he has come to meet me. He is showing interest in me 'as in you know,…. Pia blushed.

Shona smiled at pia's innocence, ya, ya I know'.so whats the problem?? You don't like him??

no no'I didn't say that, replied Pia

oh I see'…..aag dono taraf barabar lagi hai, Shona laughed.

Shona controlled her laughter, -ok baba'I will not say anything now' tell me whats the problem???

well I kinda like him but I am super confused. I mean howI can develop feelings for someone whom I just met twice. How can I trust him.I don't know anything about him.

Shona replied thoughtfully, di'you neverknow'.kabhi kabhi bas ek mulaqaat hi kafi hoti hai pyaar mein padne ke liye aur kabhi kabhi saari umar bhi kam pad jaati hai.

ye dialogue tumne kaun si film se churaya hai???asked pia knowing her filmy sister.

Shona again started laughing ok ok sorry'..i know ye dialogue chori ka hai but'..its true. You are complaining that u don't know him'. so if you like him then you should try to know him more.

Pia asked confused, but how??

Shona sighs, oh di are you really from other world??? Normal people call this process as "DATING". You should ask him for a date.

Pia throws pillow on her, shut up. Ok' if he'll come again to meet me n ask me out I'll say yes.

RAICHAND MANSION, ABHAY'S ROOM

Abhay asked kabir , “have you got us registered for the auditions. What is the auditions date???”

yes, I have registered our band, auditions are after 20days and I also informed all of our members' but' there is a problem, replied Kabir

what problem???

actually ruhi cant come as her mother is serious, said Kabir worriedly.

so what? its only about the auditions we can manage without ruhi. She will come once her mother will be ok.

actually the problem is that I had already registered thenames of all the members when I told them that our one member cant make it tothe auditions. They didn't agree. When I told them about problem 'they, withdifficulty, agreed for a substitute for temporary basis. So all we have to dois find a female singer to join our band, Kabir explained

what, how can they do that?? Now how will we find a femalesinger here in mumbai that too in such a short time?? I also don't havemuch friends here, Abhay also become worried now.

Meanwhile alina entered in the room.

alina hi 'so aajmeri yaad kaise aa gayi??asked Abhay

actually dad has come to meet chand uncle so I thought Ishould also meet you so I came with him. You look worried' is their anyproblem???asked alina

have you seen the promos of the music reality show by Mtv.We r giving auditions for that n we need a female singer to perform atauditions as our band member can't come.

Alina was surprised, what you 'n reality show'. you have formed music band???Chand uncle knows about it???

alina,I will explain everything later. First tell me do you any girl who can help us??? Asked Abhay

well'. yes one of my friend learns music. She is not inthe town. But I know her music school may be you can find someone there,replied Alina

Abhay hugged her in excitement, making her blush n happy at the same moment, oh thank u so much alina. You are a sweetheart.

OFFICE, RAICHAND PHARMACY

Pia has come office earlier than usual. She rememberedlast night discussion with shona. She was expecting abhay today also in theoffice and she has decided that this time she will say yes for their date. Shehas paid extra attention to her looks today. With her light blue formal shirt. She has matched grey jacketn trousers with matching sandals n has left her hair open. Usually she avoidsmake up but today she put on some make up too for added effect. Butto her utter disappointment whole day just went like that but abhay didn't comeShe left the office with a sad face andwent to sargam music institute to pick up shona.

SARGAM MUSIC INSTITUTE

Pia was waiting outside when she noticed a car stopped near the gate n to her surprise the person whom she was waiting to meet thewhole day came out of it. His friend kabir was also with him. She was happy to see abhay n proceeded towards him but then stopped in the middle to see alina also joining them. She felt sharp pain as if someone has poke needle in her heart and got the same strong feeling which she got in the party on seeing him with this girl. But this time, she finally recognized this feeling as JEALOUSY'..yes she was jealous of this girl, but why, she thought, is she really falling in love with abhay??? But then her confusion was replaced by anger when she thought that this was the reason abhay didn't come to office. He was busy hanging out with his childhood friend. She followed them inside the institute.

As abhay entered inside he heard a melodious voice practicing a classical song. He looked at the girl. She was a young girl,probably, in her teens. She was singing with so much dedication and her voice was as sweet as wind chimes. Instantly abhay decided only this girl is going to be in their band. Kabir argued that she is singing Indian classical while there band will need versatile singer. But abhay said they have time to practice and by looking the dedication in the girl she will make it once she agrees.

Abhay turned around feeling someone is staring him and was surprised to see pia there. A sweet smile crept on his face and he moved towards her leaving alina n kabir behind who were busy in talking with one of the teacher n asking about the details of the girl they chose.

Abhay was surprised to see her there, r u stalking me???

Pia replied angrily, Its your job to stalk people.

Abhay ' oh o someone is in a bad mood today. Are you upset that I didn't come today , Abhay winked at her

what..i m not upset or anything, Pia avoided his gaze.

Abhay got the hint that she was indeed upset because of him,- did I say today you are looking beautiful, more than usual.

Pia’s anger melted a little, what are you doing here??

I m in a need of female singer as our band giving audition in a talent hunt show. All the day we were busy finding one n alina was helping us. Finally we have find one .Hope she agrees, said Abhay while pointing towards a girl.

so you are a singer. Hmmm good dancer, singer' I must say you r multi talented, said pia

you don't know my talents yet 'jus give me one chance, Abhay winked at her. By the way have you noticed how our paths cross each time even when we don't intend to meet. So are you gonna accept it n meet me or still want me to try a little harder???

Pia saw that girl abhay was pointing his finger, we will decide later about our meeting but I think first you should come n meet my parents because that girl is my younger sister Shonali and you have to take our parents permission if you want her to join your band.

Abhay exclaimed, wow!!! .now thats what I called destiny'. So miss pia' goodbye for now. Don't worry we'll meet very soon kyunki ab toh aana jaana laga hi rahega ghar par. He give her his cutest dimpled smile and went away with kabir n alina.

Pia also went home with shona smiling all throughout the way. She has accepted finally that she likes him n he must be given a chance. She has already told shona about everything and she was excited more than pia to meet his would be jiju n if her parents agree, to work with him in band.

He just went to office to meet Pia. Has he realized that Alina is under a mistaken impression and he has to clear it up?

Shona is the singer they want? If she joins the band, their paths will cross even more.
