Glad to know it's your favorite - it's mine too. I know, when the original rendition is quite fantastic, the newer ones, no matter how well executed, tend to dim in comparison. I still like the Coke Studio version a lot, however. Thank you for the comment :)

I completely understand if she wants to miss DJ night.

Her dear friend Lavanya has other plans. She would love to be a part of that night and she can't leave her best friend alone. So, She cleverly steered her way in to making Khushi to agree to a deal. (Pshhh, is she ASR's sister in the previous janam?)

The deal was, she will accompany Khushi to a Kavi Sammelan if Khushi goes down stairs to the DJ night right now with her in a Champagne coloured dress.

Now to the teaser speculation:

It looks like both of them have a common interest and Sher and Shayari and most probably Khushi is looking forward to listen to Arnav in the mahfil.

Cheers.....

I loved your comment, thank you! You're justified in not understanding new age lyrics- some of them are not meant to be understood at all.

Thank you :)

You’ve such an intriguing story, judging from the prologue and first chapter. I’m totally hooked. It’s also such a delight to see a fellow coke studio lover, as well as poetry.

Loving it so far! 😳

Equally delighted to hear from a poetry and Coke Studio lover. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Lavanya preferences appear diametrically opposite to Khushi's, yet they seem close friends. Khushi likes quietude and Lavanya is a party animal. But looks like her prophecy about Khushi ending up with a teen naam ka guy is just about to come true. She even got the initials almost right 😁 Will he be one of the Shayirs? Will he share Khushi's love for Shayaris and poetry? Guess we will know that in the next update 😊

Teaser aisa hain to update kya kamaal hoga!! I am assuming it's from Arnav's POV.

Ittefaq se toh hum tum nahi takraye,

Thodi sazish to Khuda ne bhi ki hogi

- Saad Patel

We all have our guilty pleasures. No judgment. For instance, as much as I love soul-stirring ghazals, you might also just find me tapping my foot to - Taare gin gin yaad vich teri main ta jaga raata nu, rok na pavaan ankhiyan vichu gham diya barsatan nu, oh ho ho- oh ho ho- ishq tera tadpave 😆

I loved the sher you quoted. Saad Patel? Hmm, interesting. Never read him before. Although ittefaq reminded me of this one (which come to think of it, is quite apt for the story as well)-

Ye teri saazish hai, ya phir ittefaq,

Main jahaan dooba, wahin ubhra hai tu

- Imran Badayuni

Thank you so much for the lovely comment.

That song has so much energy!! I started tapping my foot just by reading the lyrics smiley36

I had read those lines before, so googled to get the writer. He may not be a famous one.

The sher you quoted has piqued my curiosity. Arnav had a troubled childhood. Apparently he doesn't believe in either love or marriage. From the Prologue it feels like Khushi is no longer with him, and I wonder if it's because of his fear of commitment? Here's one from the movie Saajan (not sure who is the original writer). I feel this is more from Khushi's perspective 😊

Humein toh apno ne loota,

Gairon mein kahan dum tha

Humari kashti wahan doobi

Jahaan Paani kam tha

Edit: Sorry that one wasn't from Saajan.

You're right. In fact, Ishq tera tadpave is the Ranveer Singh of Bollywood music.😆

Lips locked on the plot but loved reading your speculation. Also, the lines you have quoted are beautiful. "Humari kashti wahan doobi, jahaan paani kam tha"- amazing! I believe these are the words of a shayir named 'Firaaq Gorakhpuri' (belongs to the 50's era if I'm not wrong).

Now that you've mentioned fear of commitment, I'm tempted to recommend a song to you, if you haven't heard it already before - it's Half Of My Heart by John Mayor. Best song on the fear of commitment I've heard in a while :)

I absolutely loved the chapter and what a entry for Khushi. I like this Khushi, she is so different. I am really looking forward to her character in the future. The chapter carried the ease of friendship between Khushi and Lavu which is so great.

I finished reading the chapter and plugged in my earphones and the first song to play was Ranjish hi sahi the Coke studio version. I love and the song and really liked how you used it in the update. Looking forward to the upcoming chapters and more shayaris.
