I watch YRKKH and when I heard about this spin off I thought let me give this a try. I've watched Shaheer's old show Navya so I know him (but he's grown SO much as an actor! ) and I didn't know who Rhea was so researched a bit on her previous show and was like okay let me watch this. I initially liked the show but felt Kuhu's character was too loud and annoying and Kunal's character seemed to be too robotic. So my interest was not on them and I just watched the show. To be frank i skipped some of the pre wedding scenes 🙈 which I went back and watched 😆

The scene which got me hooked on to this couple was the suhaag raat scene. I loved the confrontation. Kunal was forced to get married to someone he didn't love coz of his mom's failed plan. He had that outburst and all the anger and frustration he was shutting off to the outside world just vented out on Kuhu. Kuhu who eagerly waited for her husband to open her ghungat on their wedding night was shattered to realize that all the love showered on her was a hoax! That's when I was like "Oh wait! This is gonna be interesting!" And I expected a regular soap story where they eventually fall in love coz they are married and family pressure, etc BUT that didn't happen and the makers surprised us with the divorce track 😲 That was when I decided this is gonna be the next couple I'm gonna ship 😆

Not related to this show but I've shipped 5 couples including KuKu and 4 of them are like parallel leads 🤣 I'm like "God! Why Oh Why! Again?!"

Good morning Nami! Even I started watching because I had watched Shaheer's KRPKAB and loved his acting.

And the suhaag raat scene confrontation was so good. Kunal was ruthless towards Kuhu and shattered all the dreams that Kuhu had for her new life. I loved the morning after scene too where Kunal asks Kuhu to get ready to leave and she asks him to give her once chance. It was a really sad scene. I kind of miss that almost robotic Kunal ( now he is too cheerful all the time) .

@bold: This is the story of my life. Even after knowing how ITV parallel leads are treated, I always end up liking the parallel lead's story and start shipping them. I am assuming from your DP you are a fan of KDHMD. I used to love Preet and Ashlesha but his character got married to Meher. I finally moved on and started liking Preet and Meher but they Killed Preet's character. Just imagine, both my ships sank so miserably - that too in the same show. 😂😂

That confrontation I'll not forget. That's when I started liking Kaveri and messaged her for the first time that girl you nailed it! Ritvik was spot on being the guy who was left with no choice but to throw the truth on her face like that.

#same. I just can't get over how he is looking at her, so much awe and wonder as though he can hardly believe he's allowed to keep her and be so happy. And I also love the way she is looking at him -- Kuhu has always been a cheerful character, but that happiness has always been something she strived for with a chaotic, desperate energy. The happiness that Kunal's love gives her is something different. It's all glowy and peaceful, seems to bubble up effortlessly, and make her feel like her heart is bursting, every time their eyes meet and looks at her like *that* ☺️

I have a different POV on the looks. I don't know if it's peaceful for Kuhu. It's more like Kunal took her breath away. And the way Kunal looks at her is as if storm within him becomes silent when he looks at her.

Oh I completely agree with you! He is taking her breath away, and that's part of what I meant by peaceful. Kuhu has a thousand things running through her brain -- insecurities, anxieties, responsibilities -- but when Kunal looks at her and they connect, it's like all of that melts away and all she has to do is be in that moment with him. He's the first person I've seen on the show who is able to make her feel that, like she doesn't have to prove or fight for anything and is worthy of being adored just for existing as herself. And seeing his effect on her, seeing himself through her eyes, transforms him from the hesitant, awkward boy who doesn't know what he's doing into the confident man who knows exactly how to express his feelings.

I just love watching couples who have this effect on each other. Kuhu may always have to fight the world's perception of her as unintelligent, petty, and superficial, and Kunal may always have to fight the perception that he is passive and boring BUT when they are together, they get to be their true selves. Kuhu doesn't have to change her outward behaviour for Kunal to understand that her humour and 'bublliness' comes with a patient, sensitive and thoughtful soul, and Kunal doesn't have to become a champagne-and-roses Romeo for Kuhu to understand that he feels and loves deeply but is very subtle about demonstrating his feelings because was always taught that his emotions came last on the family priority list, and that expressing them was selfish. They share a mutual respect and acceptance and so bring out the best in each other.

True confessions: I did not know I had this much to say on the subject, but damn those scenes.

@aqua: I had to re-watch the clip a dozen more times after this post 😆.

True - they manage to grab the smallest of details. It's crazy.

@sam: you've described them beautifully! I know they're just acting and kuhu-kunal are fictional characters but whenever I see them looking a one another like this, it gives me hope. Especially Kunal, the way he looks at kuhu like she's his entire universe!
